It's a truly terrible game. It should be a crime to squander that much potential.
I play it on the train to/from work for PokeStop refills (every train stop is a pokestop) and then I leave it running on lunch downtown where the scene is still active and when I'm at home (living in range of a nest). Its getting there, but its not anywhere near its potential. The event is a nice twist, +6 candy for every catch and +2 for every transfer is helping level up. For some reason I'm not see Ghastly/Zubat/Drowzee family, but I'm getting a sudden spike in Ghastly/Meowth/Cubone family.
I was at King's Dominion and decided to pull it up for the first time in months. An Eevee spawned, the game immediately crashed so hard that my entire phone reset, and I uninstalled it.
I think the game peaked for me after taking over the top of Mount Washington. Literally.
As much of an abortion this game has become... at least I can say for certain the event is working.

Weedle/Pidgey/Caterpie/etc are basically non-existant right now and are replaced by these event Pokemon. Each pokemon is worth 8 candy between 6 for catching and 2 for transferring so it makes sense they removed the 12-candy-evolution Pokemon til the event is over so people don't go farming insane amounts of XP off them.
Are Meowth, Cubone and Marrowak spawning like crazy for everyone? I did't see that those would be spawning for the event too.
I hadn't seen neither Cubone or Marowak anywhere before the update, I logged in Tuesday and one of each popped right next to me. Now I'm getting the former like crazy.
Finally was able to get myself enough candies to evolve my 84% Gastly through to a Gengar so happy with that. Will probably go back to checking once a week again after this Halloween event is over.
Yes, Meowth, Cubone, and Marowak were added to the event but not mentioned. I'm seriously surprised at not Zubat/Golbat though. No bats for a Halloween event? (They were listed, but I haven't seen a single one. Nor have I seen Drowzee/Hypno, but they were really common here.
Wish they weren't so damn hard to catch. Don't know about you guys but I've burned through all of my pokeballs and great balls catching nothing but horrid IV crap. SO annoying to have >200CP Ghastly constantly popping out of curved great throws with great balls.
Really annoyed that they have replaced practically EVERYthing. Increased candy rates but all I see are freaking Ghastly.
Sucks that I've also been working my ass off. Literally the night the event started I worked 8:30PM til a little after 9AM. I've been dead after working 10 hour shifts for weeks in a row and it looks like I'm getting sick to boot. I haven't had any time to hit any nests to help fill my dex for evos.
I hope the Christmas event is double dust. I need it.
I failed at catching a Snorlax last night ; ; I will never get him...
Apparently areas that were common for Drowzee haven't been getting much. I've seen some Zubats but way more Gastly, Cubone, Meowth, Drowzee here.
Thankfully I have a 97% Gengar I evolved ages ago so it has Sludge Wave grandfathered in. Got that shit to max CP (even though it caps really low cause Gengar is pretty bad in Go :/ )
I do hope they balance that out eventually. It's the same old Pokemon in gyms because only certain things are good. Not that gyms matter, but I'd like it to be more the game in that I can max level whatever I want and it be viable.
When player battles are introduced, it'll be the same. Dragonite, Snorlax, Vaporeon, etc.
I ended up getting full on sick so my one day off was a bust. Had to work Friday night... I haven't been able to get any walking in to get candy/hatch eggs. They also made it so driving doesn't work at all for distance. Normaly the >20 speed limit works fine to hatch my eggs in town. I got 0 credit Friday night when I did a round of stops before grabbing Nyquil and heading home. Hate sounding lazy for driving, but third shift and sick. =(
man im sorry this was your event experiance , i spent ever day of the event playing at least 4+ hours (10pm on week days midnight on weekends) first day alone i went from 81-400+ ghastly candys then i did mass evo's last night all told i gained about 170k exp during the event got myself a 91% ghastly im trying to get candys to gengar it one last time before this shit ends. pokedex is up to 129/142. Missing a few things ill have to travel out of town to get.

Can't really complain about that. Hopefully it's a lot of shit from the daily pokestop though.
Really wish they'd permanently cut the Buddy distance to what it was during the Halloween event though.
When I saw "daily bonus" I got excited but then I saw it was just bonuses for doing the same crap as usual. Was really hoping for poke balls etc just for logging in once a day but it's better than nothing. Still it's not like people are running out daily to get pokemon like they were at launch anymore so I don't think most people are going to benefit from the 7 day bonus. I know I sure won't.
