Yeah. I saw all the rage when that update hit and people with rooted devices couldn't log in.
Spoofing still happens, so there are ways around it. Just not going to jump through hoops for it. Not worth it. Was just curious.

It was pretty soon after release that Niantic started checking wether players had "Mock locations" enabled in settings, when checked the game would simply not log in/load stuff/whatever. As mentioned, Xposed could bypass this pretty easily and when Niantic started blocking rooted phones they also started checking for Xposed. However last time I checked (which was like 4 months ago when I actually played this crap), you could have a rooted phone, Xposed installed, spoof and mock locations Xposed modules running and then disable root and log in to PoGo with the spoofing shit from Xposed still running.
To be honest I might have still played this a couple of times a week if they didn't block rooted phones. I could have made the disable root trick work, but it would involve putting new firmware on my phone and doing that just for this crap wasn't worth the hassle. Especially since said block doesn't stop spoofers.
FlyGPS works fine on a none rooted device, you do need ot mess with Dev options though. And I think you need one fo the older versions as the latest one is missing the joystick mode
Here's info on the new Pokemon you can get and which eggs they come from:

Managed to get a Magby from a 10 egg. Woo!
So, it appears my issue was with my Tablet. My Tablet (Galaxy Tab 4) runs Lollipop. These GPS spoofs need Marshmallow or better to work without the "allow mock location" turned on. I wanted to avoid using my phone which is why I tried it on my Tablet first. Downloaded on my phone and it works. Spoofed my dummy account around for 3+ hours with it. The older version of FlyGPS rubber banded me a LOT, so I tried something else and it does still rubber band me but mostly when I tab out and then back into the game. I only got soft banned once and I'm not even sure why. I wasn't moving too fast nor did I rubber band in my location. I was walking along nice and slow getting pokestops then all the sudden they didn't work. Everything ran, etc. Took like 15+ mins before I could do anything again.
Basically, I take back my comment about this shit being a challenge to do for most of the player base. While it still may be too complicated for some of the mothers/fathers out there playing, it's definitely easy as shit to do. That being said, I doubt I would ever actually spoof on my main account because my luck would be my main account getting banned for using it once while my dummy account uses it all the time and gets away with it. Not sure what I'll do with the dummy. It just gives me something to do late at night if I can't sleep and lack the urge to play an RPG. (Depression sucks man..)
Haven't really hatched much but I was still working through old eggs to clear up space for new ones. No babies yet. I want my Cyndaquil, Houndour, and Suicune! And shinies!!
Also, totally disappointed with the Christmas "event". No double dust? Really. It's Christmas. Snow. Dust is snow like. Y NO DUST?! I have >1000 dust and lots of Pokemon that still need powering up.
Here's what I'm working with after playing since 6/7:

Pardon all the junk. I have no refresh tokens left for some reason to update it after I purged the crap. Living on a farm sucks ass, but I'll be moving back to civilization soon.
For the record (I assume this still works), if you get soft banned, touch a pokestop, spin it, exit the stop and repeat until you get stuff from it which will signify you're no longer soft banned.
I got bored doing that over and over. I'd tab out and browse forums/FB, tab back in and spin.. nothing. Repeat. I swear it was a good 15-20 mins.
If you spam it it'll go away in less than five minutes. Tedious though.
I seem to be getting 1-Use Incubators with every first PokeStop spin of the day, which is great. I can finally actually clear some of these eggs I've had for a while.
Yeah, unfortunately. One incubator (1 use) a day and increased hatch rates of new baby pokemon. Lures also last an hour for a certain period.
Nests changed and the town nearest me got shat on, again. Caterpie nest guys. It was nothing before and prior to nothing... a Krabby nest. Ugh.
Starter Pokemon EVERYWHERE
and I've had 0 balls for weeks... dis game blows
I went to the only mall in MN that has pokestops every 20 ft and there were no starters anywhere.
I saw two Charmanders today. That's outside the norm for me. First ones I've seen in a long time
I've caught 5 Squirtle, 2 Bulbasaur, 2 Charmander and my first ever Charmeleon whole in town earlier.
definitely jacked up the rate in most places. At work I see a starter maybe two times a week. Yesterday I caught 4charmander, 4bulbasaur, and 3squirtle. Saw an Ivysaur and wartortle on the locator but never found them.
At home I see a starter maybe once a month and I got a charmander and bulbasaur just last night.
I saw a Squirtle. Gave it a berry, used 1 Ultra Ball, it broke free and escaped. Fuck this game lol
Starters seem to favor regular balls but you need a Great.
