Pokemon Go (Mobile July 2016)

Just Shiny Magicarp it seems. Seen several screenshots on FB groups. Even has the sparkle around it. They say it doesn't show as shiny until you "engage" it. I can see why they're doing it that way, but it doesn't make logical sense to see it normal color then have it change.

I'm also stuck in the hospital right now. Been here since 9am. Missing out like a boss. Barely anything spawns here.

Seconding that this event is legit on the spawns. Much much more spawns than the starter event.

I reinstalled a few days ago. .I see more spawns in general than before and now this water event is great

I've not seen a Totodile (or its evos) since this even started. Just been shitting Poliwags, Remoraids and Lanturns.

I'm like, 99% sure I was paying attention, and I'm not sure if this is old news, but "Critical Captures" are in the game now?

I absolutely remember hearing a "1 Shake, Click!" while I was catching something today, anyone see this?

No idea what causes them but they exist. They have a more flashy animation for the "click" after the first shake too.

Yeah, the stars shoot out faster and kind of swirl around on crit catches.

Got discharged earlier today so I should be able to get in on the event now. If things don't flare up again... Anyway. On the way home I had my PoGo+ running and was just hitting the button to catch Pokemon as I went. Looked at log later, which doesn't track every missed Pokemon, and a Vaporeon fled. Was like 430CP, too. Atleast it wasn't a Lapras. I still need one and would have been pissed, but had I been looking while driving I would have never seen it anyway because speed cap. PoGo+ atleast gives you a chance to catch things you can't actually see because of the stupid speed cap.

Some notes on Shiny Magikarp:
1. It can be a Ditto....
2. It only appears shiny once clicked on. (Already mentioned.)
3. It is not shiny for everyone! Unlike the current shared IV/Movesets, it can be shiny for one person but not for another who clicks the same one.

I'm taking advantage and tossing Pinap berries at the Magikarps I catch.

I live near a current Totodile nest, and one of the concert venues that I work at was an Omanite nest not long after the game came out. I've seen quite a few Totodiles just in random places since the event started though. They're a pain in the ass to catch though.

It's true but make sure you have the latest update installed first or else you're gonna have a bad time.

I had stopped looking at my items since I got my first evolve item (takes to long to scroll down.) On my 6th stop yesterday I noticed a dragon scale mixed in. Today on my 7th I got the up-grade. Finally decided to look at my items and I have 1 of each now O_o! sun, rock, upgrade, scale, and coat. Time to evolve some Poks!

I've got a
95% Sunkern
97% Seadra
91% Porygon
93% Slowpoke
91% Onyx

Unless you just want Steelix for the 'dex entry, I would save for a Scyther. Steelix is not very good.

Steelix is a victim of the way the game calculates CP, unfortunately. On the other hand, Scizzor is pretty damn good.
