There is over 15000 people in the park there on their phones, so naturally, it's very tough to keep cell service and lots of people cannot play. The event staff are getting continually harassed because of this.
Legendary Pokemon set as buddies take 20km to earn 1 candy.
And the Fest has failed. All attendees are being refunded $20 for the ticket and are being given $100 in-game currency.
Legendaries can only be caught with a Master Ball. Right now they are only available as a promotional item.
I think there is something like a 2% chance that the premier ball can catch it.
What a spectacular clusterfuck haha. Who would have thought jamming 15000 people into a single public park would be hard on cell phone reception?
Can't blame them for trying to re create the original mewtwo trailer. I didn't realize they charged people for attending it... what a stupid company
Lugia and Articuno are now available via Raids.
You don't need a "Legendary Raid Pass", the old standard Raid Pass works.
I've already caught an Articuno. Haven't seen a Lugia raid yet where I live.
Also, all bonuses were achieved at that fiasco of a Pokemon Go Festival. Double EXP, Double Candies, Double everything for the next 2 days.
I don't imagine any of them to be soloable but it seemed like articuno was pretty weak by videos. I probably won't get any since I don't have friends who play or live/go to any densely populated areas for raids.
But was it said that everyone from team mystic will automatically get an articuno cuz mystic caught the most mon?

All three Kanto birds are probably going to be pretty soft targets, two of them are double weak to Rock and the other is double weak to Ice. Lugia doesn't have a double weakness that I can think of.
I didn't see anything saying Mystic members would get a free Articuno, just that Articuno was the first one to arrive because Mystic caught the most today.
I don't have any of my personal friends playing Pokemon Go either. However, I'm part of a Facebook group in my local area that announces big raids and gathers people to do it either in person or via "aerial support" aka spoofing. It works out pretty well. I've already caught an Articuno, and I'm 0/1 on Lugia (Failed to catch it)
1/2 on Lugia
Also, Raids have been changed in that there is not longer an "incubating phase" where you can see for 2 hours what rank it will be, then it hatches and you have an hour. Now they spawn randomly and you have 2 hours to fight. Also, EXP ranks according to rank of the raid. 5*s give you 5 minutes of battle time, which helps to Max Revive and reenter on death easily.
New boxes in the store, they are all really good deals.
Had a Pokemon in a gym for 10 days. Only got 50 coins once I finally got kicked out. Fuck this new system.
Holy shit.
This is so cringe.
I can't believe Niantic is so incompetent. It's been a year, and almost nothing has changed as far as the game's stability and the way it's run. Pretty much everyone at my work plays and I watch them mess around with it...the game STILL crashes all the time after a fucking year.
I will never forget the launch of this game, being out at the park at all hours every day with thousands of other like-minded people. It's the kind of event that only comes along rarely in a lifetime. But nearly everyone who had picked up the game at the hype launch was so continually disappointed at the lack of fixes - even months down the line - that they all quit, even people like me who really like Pokemon and would have kept enjoying the game if there was something in it to enjoy after the first hype train. It's just a damn shame that Niantic can't seem to get their shit together and make a streamlined app that doesn't hog too much battery, doesn't crash all the time no matter what you're doing, and doesn't get server overload at the worst times. Basically, they had the perfect formula for a game and they managed to ruin it.
Anyone who played Ingress will tell you they *can* believe it.
