Nah I clear out my Pokemon inventory regularly for the extra Candy. It hatched after I cleared my inventory; nothing new.
100* (3 candies for catching, 1 for releasing)
do you know this through experience? as in you compared a capped poke that you powered up from low CP from one you capped from higher CP? if so that's interesting, I assumed it was set by pokemon type. how big was the difference?
what level did you make it to?
13
So fucking frustrated. Went to downtown Bellevue with a co-worker last night and servers died... there's nothing by my hotel -_-; Nothing by the office location that I'm currently at... ugh.
I can attest to this. I caught two Magicarps the other day, one had 45 CP and the CP bar was 80% full, the other had 43 CP and the bar was 50% full. So the 43 one clearly has a higher CP cap if you maxed it out. The real question is whether the Higher CP cap carries over in Evolution, where it really matters.
Got a Scyther at work, fuck yeah.
People hating on this are so MAYAD right now. "This guy is having fun doing something I don't like or understand. HEY FUCK YOU BUDDY!"
I've tried two pidgeys, one starting near cp growth cap, and one with about 75% from cap. The one that started near cap evolved into a 510 pidgeot, with the same proportion of growth to cap, and the one far from cap into a 220 pidgeot with same proportion to cap. The biggest takeaway though was you grow so much faster with the final evolution than the first, almost 30cp a level. This probably raises with pokemon level too since the pokemon you catch are stronger. The 210 Pidgeot will cap higher than the other, but by my estimates it's not drastic (at this level). I'm thinking the first Pidgeot will cap around 550, second just over 600. Not a big difference right now, but if the percentage difference remains the same it should mean a lot in the future.
So far I'm leaning towards having to balance stronger pokemon with more level ups at the final stage (which get expensive), and a pokemon starting out stronger from when you caught it, but it having less room to grow.
Either way, it seems best to farm pokemon and wait until you're a higher level before you start evolving the important pokemon like Eevee when you can catch one starting at a much higher cp in comparison to its growth cap.

5 pokeballs used but w/e
I really wish trading was available, need me a Scyther.
Where are they being found? Or is it a level restricted thing?
Think it's a geography thing.

Also caught a Scyther near work today. But there was one roaming around my neighborhood last night that I didn't bother pursuing (don't ask). I live 25 minutes away from were I work. Also there was a Taurus near work, got it down to 1 footprint away. I should have popped an incense at that point, but stupid. Still learning the tips and tricks of it all.
Edit: Also caught a Kababra in my job's parking lot.
Last three I've tried to catch the game crashes on capture. Just some Pidgeys but still, feels bad man.
Maxed a zubat to 150 or so before evolving, the resulting 450 golbat was at the same spot on cp bar (but I'm out of dust lol).
I still have no idea why I have two accounts, seeing lots of Pikachu horror stories so I'm thinking about keeping that account even though it's shittier in comparison and farther behind.
I woke up this morning, decided to turn on Pokemon Go and right away, there's a damn Snorlax in my bed. I didn't know what to think of that......but I caught it anyway because I didn't have one yet.
There is nothing directly at my work or apartment. Hate you guys.
Have to take the dog on more walks or something. I have 4-5 Pokestops near me, plus 2 gyms. I'm too low to do anything to the gyms though.
Super Potions unlock at level 10.
Anyone know how much data the game uses roughly per hour? And I also read something about google maps and being able to lower battery consumption by quite a bit about doing something in offline mode. Anyone with any insight to that? :3
