Pokemon Go (Mobile July 2016)

So there was Magnar nearby while I was at a work group lunch. It was 3 footprints away, had it been closer I probably would've excused myself.

I was walking around some pretty shady areas on lunch today but couldn't locate an aero dactyl

Wife downloaded the game and told me that if you wander away from the 3 starters four times you can catch a Pikachu. Not sure if true. Shouldn't have said anything about her not downloading it yet. Only took an hour and a half after I posted.

It is true, although I heard 5 times, and believe I had to do it 5 times. You walk away from them and they repop when you get far enough, 4th or 5th time they repop with a pikachu amongst them.

But last night I caught a much better pikachu and turned my starter into candy so it's probably better just to choose a poke you don't think will be near you geographically as your starter. If only I had the foresight to choose bulbasaur.

I don't think this will keep her attention for more than a couple weeks.

At this rate I'm not sure it'll keep mine. Hopefully they fix some of the server issues and crashes soon.

I've lost about five different ones today to server crash Luckily none of them were super rare. There is a Taurus near me but I'm stuck at work. Hnnnng, tempting.

Servers almost seem worse today then even launch day. At least on launch when servers worked, albeit a short time, they worked. Today 90% of the pokemon I catch or try to catch end up freezing the app and I have to close and re-open it. If it honestly wasn't for Egg Walking I wouldn't even bother with the app today its so annoying

Found a Scyther in a park near my work, but I was on official business at the time and didn't have the chance to chase it down. Now I know where to get it though.

Got a 550 Golbat in a Home Depot parking lot too. Good times.

This morning, I was coming to complain about not getting a 10km egg yet. Then on the way to work, I got one at a Pokestop at a nearby mosque.

didn't lose anything interesting because of it, although the whole reason I went there was for water type Pokemon and saw none I didn't have already. got a slowpoke tho

Omg I am so pissed. Was doing laundry and I decide to glance at my phone to see what was up. FUCKING AERODACTYL 3 FOOTPRINTS AWAY. Put my laundry in the dryer then storm downstairs and begin to power walk outside. Wander around looking for it, after 5 minutes I Finally find it, and guess what? IT FUCKING DESPAWNS. /nerdrage. Next I walk down further and A KINGLER IS STEPS AWAY. It spawns almost immediately and I throw a pokeball at it. Game freezes. Kingler lost. Fml

One thing i found out today is that bouncing between wifi connections and LTE can cause freezes and bad things. If you are on a wifi connection and see a pokemon a block away or something. Disconnect wifi and go on lte before you go to try and catch it or it will probably freeze.

Best bet is to turn off wifi completely when roaming so your your phone wont try to connect to any comcast or open Wifi that isnt working.



Also, sucks that I live in a not so great community that I cant just walk around with my cellphone out. This is probably amazing in Japan
I live in the South side of Chicago, so there are like 5 churches on each block. So many Poke Stops.

CANNOT stress this enough! Had this happen to me when a Pikachu was the next street over and I was able to get it in range in my backyard. By the time I fixed the issue and got back into the game the Pikachu was gone.

cP 11 pikachu my first. Next was a cp 10 gratata. Seems fun so far. Waiting to install on my gf phone. Smoke a blunt then use a incense. Nothing by her work as I wait to pick her up. Booooo.

I have had a few instances where the game freezes on catch but when I came back into the game, I had the Pokemon. I'm wondering now if the catch/escape thing is actually registering server side but we just can't move on without restarting because of the crash.

Had a Clefairy despawn on me 3 times in the same place. Servers must've been shitting the bed again. Also saw a geodude and a hitmonchan pop up at points but I couldn't go out looking for them.
