Pokemon Go (Mobile July 2016)

I'm already seeing the complaints from the, for lack of a better word, new-ish Pokemon players. Basically the ones who have never played or haven't played since they were kids when Gen 1 came out. Most of their complains boil down to anger over only ever seeing Rattata, Pidgey, and Spearow and nothing else. Also most of them just want to get a Pikachu and then quit.

Ok so the wife got mad at me for dragging her across the airport trying to catch shit at a lure and a gym and made me come to our gate to wait for 3 hours where there's no pokemon.

Jokes on her. She isn't talking to me now so I popped an incense and a lure on the stop at this gate and I've caught 10 things in like 6 minutes.

What are y'alls strategy for leaving a Pokemon to defend a gym? Do you just go with your highest CP one? Do you go with something just outside your "Starting 6"? Do you look at what's already defending and put one to balance the gym?

Since gyms are taken over so quickly, I usually just drop off my strongest one. Chances are, it will right back on your roster within the hour.

caught my first pikachu yesterday was prettty excited. I was about to leave work so turned on the app to begin my walk home and he popped up right in my office. was like YES PLEASE DON'T RUN PLEASE DON'T RUN. FUCK YOU RESISTED MY BERRY AND SUPER BALL PLEASE DON'T RUN. I am highly amused at how much more animated he is over all the other pokemon and he even says "pika"

Evolved my first Eevee last night, it turned into an 818 Vaporeon. Can't complain about that. Still have yet to successfully challenge a gym though.

What was the Eevee CP pre evolution? I've got a 200 CP Eevee I'm close to being able to evolve but may wait to catch a slightly higher CP one as I gain a few more levels. Getting ready to do a lucky egg push coming up on level 10.

When I'm at work, my guy keeps running back and forth by himself, probably cuz of gps not being able to see my phone fully. It's great for egg hatching though.

Is it possible to get the lure things from pokestops? I've used the 2 that you get when you first start and haven't seen em since. I'm level 8 now bout to hit 9.

Nice to know servers seem worse than yesterday. First Pokemon to show up for me today was a 700+ ratitata. Which the game then froze during ball successful complete animation. 2nd Pokemon was a 400+ growlith which did the same. Not even fun to play when the chance of game failure is so high and you risk the chance of losing Pokemon due to game failure

Rando pokes pop up in my apartment from time to time. Mostly Pidgey and Zubat though.

Manhattan they just wander around. Near my apartment in the Bronx there is nothing nearby, I'd have to walk.

Copenhagen airport dominance is over. 21 new or higher cp copy pokemon. Tons of transfers. Most new pokemon are 200+ with stuff like ponytas squirtle slow pokes dratini, fun stuff. Popped an egg too and got a couple levels out of it as well.

Had like 3-4 pokemon run away in a row it was a bitch, most of them were new things too.

I've never had one randomly pop up at my house; probably not enough ambient cell phone activity for them to spawn there, as almost everything is out in a road where I walk.

I'm also starting to see how dumb catching basic pokemon is, when you're past level 9. I haven't used any candies/dust, as I wanted to build up enough of an evolution army to skyrocket levels with my one lucky egg, but I've just had to Nope out on 200+ basic crud just to save on pokeballs. They need to re-scale pokemon so that, as you get higher level, higher CP pokemon are easier to catch. Keep the rare ones hard, but the basic crud shouldn't ever be hard to catch at any level.
