Google Opinions mo'fuckas.
I've got $5 chilling in my Google Play account.
People keep saying gym reset, but the gym reset is based off when you personally picked up your last reward. If you take a gym, you can immediately grab your reward as long as it hasn't been 21hrs since the last reward. Are people talking about something else?

Pretty much this. I am willing to be very patient and forgiving with this game because let's face it, this is a pretty new kind of launch with pretty new infrastructure and I doubt Niantic really expected this to take off quite like it did. I know they built this on Ingress but the # of people who played that at a time vs # who are playing this at a time is likely drastically different. They couldn't have had any idea if it was going to flop or be this popular, too. And maybe eventually it will settle back into a more stable number of users with only pokemon fans playing rather than literally everyone in the world.
Of course there are going to be frustrations for a while but I already see them fixing quite a lot of it. The game hasn't been out all that long yet. The persistent problems are going to be the people who are GPS hacking to get an edge over everyone else and take gyms they've never actually set foot near, but the other problems can certainly all be fixed.
Also keep in mind it is basically a collection game until you get a workable collection and then you can start taking over gyms and shit. Expecting it to be just like the gameboy games is asking a bit too much at this juncture. The ability to trade pokemon with others would be the greatest boon to this game right now as far as feature implementation, and they have already said they're working on putting that in. Patience is a virtueThere's no reason to have to catch them all and do all the content within the first 2 weeks of launch, this ain't FFXIV D:
I think removing the candy from power up and keeping it only on evolve would do wonders. You'd still need the stardust to power up, and you'd still need candy to evolve. It would still take a reasonable amount of time spent to level any decent Pokemon since you'd still have to catch 50+ candy worth. It would also continue to promote going to different places. It would just mean you'd be able to do something without having to catch hundreds of the same Pokemon.
When do lucky eggs show up? Level 10? Someone needs to make a mod to let me use my Fitbit.
For Minneapolis / St Paul players, the park on the U of M St Paul campus across from the campus bus station is a Bulbasaur breeding ground and the DNR building on the State Fair grounds is a Drowsee breeding ground.
Maaaan this! I don't want to power up my Vaporeon, Flareon, or Jolteon because I want to save those candies to evolve Eevees to get higher ceilings.
Right now I have:
1331 Vaporeon
1029 Vaporeon
1021 Jolteon
987 Flareon
The rest I transfer after evolution if they don't beat the current roster.
Also I've been paying closer attention to the Attacks. If the CP is slightly lower on the sams Pokemon but has better attacks, I will evolve that one instead. Attack speed, power, and type depend on those attacks.
I was rank 12 and my Eevee had 388 CP(couldn't dust it any higher); evolved it and hit 969 CP which is damn near 2.5 times the CP. Not sure if it's a random amount but I pretty much assumed between double and triple CP and got smack dab in the middle.
So I'm 90% sure CP caps increase with trainer level. I started with a Nidoran that I leveled to 199 on the second day I was playing. He was basically at the cap; I figured he'd cap out with one more power up at 210. Now he's about 2/3 of the way through the bar instead of right at the end.
forgot theres a pic thread
Yes; they do. You can get really really close to the far right and it'll say your trainer level is too low. Once you rank up; the bar moves back to the left a little bit more and lets you increase it further.
I'm convinced it's better to raise CP before evolving just for the fact that it costs less candies and stardust. If it results in a higher CP at the end, all the better.
Time to take a break for a few days and hope they fix the server issues that have been a plague for me the last 48 hours. Its no longer "please don't run away" or "please stop shaking" to now "please don't stall/freeze" every time I try to catch a pokemon. I have a 75% chance that i need to reboot on a capture attempt and I've lost way too many pokemon I have wanted to catch, wasted too many berries and too many super balls.
More frustrating then fun at this point.

Just fyi to those who have freezing problems during the catch phase (and this has been mentioned in the thread already) but don't close the app as soon as you see it freeze. Wait a few seconds after the would-be catch animation would've complete. I've had a few Pokemon waiting for me when I log back in after it froze during the catch sequence. It appears it keeps running on the server side, but doesn't relay it to your phone. So if it's a catch, it will be there. If it broke out the pokeball, then it won't. Good thing is, if you log back on quick enough, the Pokemon is usually still in the same place it spawned.
^ That I know and I wait until the server symbol stops. But you still lose a bunch because they just broke out and you dont get another chance to throw. Annoying
What is the point of Favoriting Pokemon? Do they appear as your defaults for gym battles? Because that's annoying having to reorder that every time you want to fight. Especially when you are spamming fights or when the sever kicks you out of battle before/during and you have to rearrange again.
lost a 5km egg today, grr. No idea where it went. It 5.0/5.0 and it said to walk more to open it. I check it later and it's gone. Not in my journal or recents.
But I do love living on top of a stop
Not sure if I should trust my OBGYN though

^Lmao @ whoever was in the chair before you.
And the Journal doesn't log hatches. Chances are you are just overlooking a duplicate. Go to your Pokemon and sort by Recent. See if you can locate something "new" there.

Man Playing 'Pokemon Go' Stabbed in Anaheim Park
A man was playing Pokemon Go which police believe led him to an Anaheim park where he was stabbed in a violent attack, Anaheim police said Wednesday.
He was playing the popular augmented reality app where users capture fictional creatures, which likely led him into Schweitzer Park, around 12 a.m., police said.
A group of five to six men in their late teens or early 20s got into some type of altercation with the man, police said.
He was stabbed several times in the upper torso.
Police want to be clear: They do not believe the attackers lured the victim into the park, but they do believe the victim was playing the game and was distracted.
"This is still very fresh and very new -- but what we are encouraging is if you are going to play to do it safely, and not lose sight of what you're doing," Anaheim police Sgt. Luis Correa said. "Be aware of your surroundings. Do it in a manner that's safe so you don't get into trouble."
The Pokemon Go game was being criticized for its potential dangers, but also in Orange County Wednesday, two Marines playing the game helped police nab an attempted murder suspect.
The victim is expected to survive.
