After it disappeared I hopped in my car and drove around a little, didn't pop up on my tracker again so I just went home lol
Can anyone explain what the draw to this is? I don't mean to imply that it's necessarily bad, but I see this GPS "go outside and move around" thing and it seems like such a gimmick to me. Not to mention every person I see also talks about how there's micro-transactions and then I also see articles like this recent one about mobs of people rushing into Central Park, across and through traffic, for a Vaporeon or something and I legitimately thought at first it was a riot in the streets.
So, got off work early tonight and decided to walk the main street in Neb City as it has a ton of Pokestops and I was low on Pokeballs. I work third shift so getting out sucks. I normally have tonight off but production is behind so we're working tonight and tomorrow(but it seems I might not have to work Sat night shift after all!!). I also live in the middle of fucking nowhere so there are no pokemon/pokestops to get at home. So it's like 12:45AM, wandering the street, stocking up... no Pokemon to be seen. Bunch in my list, all three footprints away. No matter where I walked, none got close. I did catch like 3 total, but they never showed up on the radar. Everything on that was 3 prints away. Restarted my game and still the same. After getting 120 Pokeballs I stopped at the courthouse where I parked and used an incense to see what I could attract... 20 mins and nothing. So in two hours of wandering around I caught 3 Pokemon total. Two Pidgey and Ratatta. I did see a Drowsee, but didn't grab it.
Drove over to the park by work (I've been catching most of my mons at Work/Walmart) and still couldn't find any Pokemon. So I said fuck it and went to Walmart, we needed toiler paper anyway. Caught 10+ Pokemon in Walmart. Gained almost two levels evolving Pidgey, Weedles, and Ratattas. Got a crappy Beedrill in the parking lot who got sent to Willow, and was chasing a Clefairy that vanished before I could track it down. Apparently Walmart is the place to catch Pokemon here.
I evolved my one Eevee on Thursday and got lucky. I was hoping for Vaporeon and got one. (I didn't know about the naming trick until just now.) Maybe it heard me chanting, "Come on Vaporeon!" as it was evolving, lol.
Only level 8 with Vaporeon as my highest at 728CP.
Edit:
Oh, and I totally bought two "Team Mystic" shirts from Qwertee and Onceuponatee.
Holy shit! 400 pieces of candy to get magikarp to evolve lol.
I thought I saw earlier in the thread that everything is always showing 3 footprints and Nitanic is aware of the problem and are working on fixing it. It's been like that for almost 24 hours.
I've had pokemons pop up who weren't even on the nearby list and vice versa. I'm convinced the whole shit is jacked up.
Yes, whole game is pretty borked.
Nice throws arent consistent, neither are curveballs. Nothing is really consistent. feels like an alpha still tbh
Na, you're right, it's a shit "game". The appeal wears off real fast if you live in a rural area. I have to drive 15mins to the nearest place that has two shops and one gym, and a place where pokemon pop frequently. The way I have to play it is hope a pokemon spawns while i'm driving on a road on the way to work. Otherwise i'm stuck with the cool down timer that spawns a low level shit pokemon near you once an hour. And even then, if I run out of pokeballs i'm screwed; i'd have to drive to that place with the two pokemarts, and feed off of those two for awhile in order to get more balls.
I'm not driving 15mins out of my way just so I can play this game. IF.. IF.. pokemon actually followed "natures rule" and actually popped out in the fucking woods I would be set! It might actually be FUN to go hunt for shit out in the middle of no where. But no! You have to go to fucking walmart.
Even if I had cool mons.. whats there to do with it? Gyms are populated by lvl 23+ trainers, you cant battle random people, and there are no random battles. I haven't really touched since last weekend, maybe if they fix this shit i'd pick it up again.
Servers dead!
Pretty much, if you work / live in the city. the "game" is pretty entertaining as a "gotta catch 'em all" geocaching app. Other than that, it's pretty shitty. Any other game would have crash and burned if it had that little features / crash rates as Pokemon Go.
Gps spoofing?
Servers down it seems?![]()
I managed to connect back just now. Thought might have been a full server reset @_@ nothing nearby at all including pokestops / gyms.
