Can people log in or not? And post whether Pokemon trainer club is used or google
Seems some people can get in and some people are still 0/100+ logging in and I'm suspecting Google is fixed but Pokemon trainer club authentication isn't yet
been on for 2 hours with no problem android using Google log in
I log in fine, iphone using google
It's a trainer verification issue. I tried re-verfiying my account and website is getting slammed. Sucks becaus when I log in via Google I have to start a new account even though same email for both login.
is there a difference logging in between the two?
Yeah. Trainer won't verify, Google asks me to setup a new game. So I think data is stored differently.
1. Nostalgia factor. Many, many, many people played Pokemon when it came out and various iterations since then. And many dreamed of exactly this scenario - becoming a "real" Pokemon trainer, going out adventuring and finding Pokemon in the real world. Meeting other trainers on your travels and generally having a good time while building a collection. This scratches that itch almost perfectly. It really clicks for a lot of people. The people who enjoy this game for this reason aren't thinking of it as a game that they're playing for temporary entertainment. They're thinking of it as an exercise in wish fulfillment.
2. "Cool" factor. Most people who are playing this didn't play Ingress or have any idea about geocaching games. It's very cool to be able to play a game that interacts with the real world in the way that PoGo does. You add the idea of teams fighting to hold real-world locales and you have a further cool factor, because many people like to represent a collective, be one part of something bigger than themselves. And it's cool to see a Pokemon hanging out in your usual familiar environment.
3. Microtransactions are not necessary by any stretch. The game's not pay to win if you have the time to go hit Pokestops when you need to stock up (or GPS spoof I suppose). You can go totally free on this game without any troubles, as long as you have the motivation to go out and hit Pokestops. And honestly the stuff in the shop is pretty fairly priced anyway. You're paying a only couple bucks for anything. SE's games (for example) are FAR worse from what I've seen.
4. People sometimes just need a good excuse/motivator to do something they wanted to be doing anyway. I have seen countless stories since this dropped of people who are using it only as a fitness motivator, or as a reason to actually socialize with others. "I finally have a reason to go outside and walk/jog/meet people", seen that quite a lot. It's a carrot-and-stick phenomenon. The hype around it helps motivate as well. Everyone wants to be a part of it because it's so popular right now.
There are tons of reason for liking this game. For me it's actually a combination of all of these reasons. I need to lose weight, this gives me a good motivator to walk around a lot more. I love the wish fulfillment of being able to find Pokemon in the real world, after so long thinking how cool it would be if kids really did go out on a journey to become pokemon trainers. And I haven't had to pay a dime yet. Also, I'm on Team Mystic![]()
Got a Squirtle sitting at my friend's house while he was playing the Division. Made me LOL when I saw people going nuts in Central Park for one.
So going to do it to tonight!
Finally got in the server, got to the park, popped a lucky egg, walked for 5 minutes then a thunderstorm rolled through. Feels Bad Man.
I just evolved a 1k raticate with hyper beam. Was that in the show? Cause it's demolishing competition.
Is weather and time of day a marker for type of pokemon?
I read somewhere they were but it was early on... all I know is that with Night/Day there is a visible change to your game, that being night and day cycle in the sky so theres a possibility Night/Day does... where as with weather there is no change in the games sky... so if its changing something it has no visual cues.
Edit: Also I just recently felt like I was able to play this game with little to no issues most of the time, and now they add more countries and I got the good old potato servers back ... I'm managing about 4 transfers before the game decides I can't transfer any more Pokemon, enjoy your errors.
Should've waited in the rain as a just in case precaution. Standing in the rain and staring up watching the lightning. Scaring the family/neighbors all to be the very best, like no one ever was ( sirens in the background getting closer).
Finally back in for Pokemon trainer club account and catch a Pokemon and it freezes and crashes on pokeball animation and can't get back in again
Went to UNCC today. Had dozens of people walking around doing shit until a thunderstorm started. At one point had 3 stops lit up with lures all within range of each other next to a pond so caught tons of cool stuff. Then ended up getting a 325 Weepinbell on the way home. have 2 10km eggs incubating now, the first one had a stupid eevee in it...
