Based on gathered knowledge thus far(and some of the specifics aren't necessarily 100% proven.) the pokemon in PoGo we're constructed using the base stats of each specials from the main series of games as the building block.

In the main series there are 6 stats, each able to have an IV of 0-31 to determine the unique potential of each Pokemon. Basically acting as the genetic pre-disposition of each unique Pokemon generated.

Fast forward to PoGo. They take these 6 stats and condense them down through an algorithm to create 3 stats: Attack, Defense, and Stamina. Based on research so far it appears that the stat correlation from the main series to PoGo is something similar to this:

Attack - A function of Base Attack, Special Attack, and a factor of Speed.
Defense - A function of Base Defense, Special Defense, and a factor of Speed.
Stamina - A function of Base HP

Along with the reduction of stats from 6 -> 3 they also reworked the IV system. Just like the main games each generated Pokemon has an IV for each of it's three stats, but rather than the 0-31 like the main series PoGo use an IV spread of 0-15.

On a side note, this method of building the framework of the Pokemon for Pogo is one of the major contributing reasons we are seeing Pokemon who were competitive in the main series due to their speed, appearing rather lackluster in PoGo. However, with the bit of depth already in the stat system there are certainly signs that the game -could- grow into something unique and fun from a min/maxing~battling perspective. It really depends on Nintendo and Niantic.

Sadly Niantic hasn't really shown the desire to build complex mechanics into their original game Ingress, so while I really hope for an amazing future from this aspect of the game, I will wait with baited breath for the future!

Still absolutely loving the game(When the servers will let me play!) Growing up some people wanted to be Lawyers, some Rock Stars, and other Athletes and Astronauts. My only dream was to be the best, like no one ever was. Unlike many of those other kids, that dream never faded from my minds eye and now I have a chance to come one step closer to living it out every day! What a time to be alive.

I was able to log in and catch a drowzee.

side question, since pokevision uses games api and kinda pings the game, can that add double stress to servers? along with us playng the game and now all these visionaries pinging too.

Servers have been super dead for me. Like, fully kicked out of the game and forced to re-enter log in info. I think the next month will be rough and piss a lot of people off but after that, it'll sky rocket and be great.

Yah, until the Japan release comes out and we repeat the cycle all over again =0!

The sad fact is that these issues can most likely be traced back to Miyamoto-san's surprise announcement at E3 that the Pokemon Go Plus would be dropping at the end of July. Ever since that announcement, and the look of terror on the faces of the actual developers on the panel, it has been a steady death march towards a global launch ignoring every major issue other than getting the game into all major markets before the Pokemon Go Plus drops at the end of July.

It is really a sad state of affairs, but I am honestly not surprised seeing Nintendo's interaction with a 3rd Party developer. I just hope after seeing how much potential this game truly has Nintendo/Game Freak/TPC/Creatures/Niantic get serious and deliver on a long term project and not just a wrinkle in time.

Meant to ask earlier, but forgot what with all the server nonsense.

I was getting double exp randomly without lucky egg. Did anyone else have this happen? Noticed it today and yesterday. It happened randomly

I popped a lucky egg today was getting double double exp. I evolved a a ghastly to my first haunter and got 4000 exp. got 400 exp on a few catches too. was soo gooood.

Thats odd. I imagine you know that Exp is displayed as a lump sum if you evolve multiple at once before going back to the Map screen so i can rule that out as a possibility, and it wouldn't effect captures... this is weird o.O Wish I could experience this lol.

This was supposed to debut in Japan today, but because the McDonald's news leaked, it was delayed. The news leak boosted McDonald's stock and the announcement of the PoGo delay dropped Nintendo's stock.
