I keep getting Wild Seals and Rhyhorn's in my backyard. Have caught 4 of each today.

I don't know if I should be disturbed or happy that my local Pieology is a ghastly breeding ground.
before you log in, scroll down to see settings. there'll be a coordinate input field, go on google maps and find the coordinates for the place you want to scan and input them. if you need to change them just hit the log out + change settings button and reenter. they will be adding coordinates input without having to relog soon I believe. i set up a remote windows 10 desktop and hooked it up to my phone/tablet so I can use it on the go. worth it IMO since it doesnt rely on a separate server, just your PC and PokeGo servers being up.
also i suggest using an alternate google account for this just in case
Yeah I figured that out. Wasn't sure if there was an option to do it via phone without remote access. Thanks!
I've got an 80% eevee hope it turns into a good vape. Waiting to evolve it since I'm level 12 but have 17 evolves saved up for my egg.
Just did my second 5km of the day, total 10km today with about 10k steps, best "workout" (walking isn't the best but it's something to restart with) I've done in a year or more. Caught this at the halfway mark:
My pokebank:
Will go out again for one last walk later if I feel like it. GOnna do this every couple days.
O yea, new pokemon today if I can remember them all: Lapras, Tangela, Victreebell, Jigglypuff, Koffing, Sandshrew, Psyduck, Goldeen, Vulpix.
Yep, I'm in Malden and my neighborhood is infested with Drowzees. Randomly, a mass (six to eightish) amount of them will spawn in a one block area, along with a Hypno or two. I've seen several Jynxes spawn together nearby as well.
Noticing Boston Common is a hot spot for Jiggly Puffs, and in NYC, Central Park for Pinsirs. The best place I've found in Boston for an interesting mix of Pokemon is from Columbus Park, all along the waterfront down towards South Station. Tons of Magikarp and Psyducks (Golduck is a solid evolution), and a bunch of random stuff like Ponyta, Onix, Dragonair, etc..
Thanks for that! Found out I have a 97.8% Vaporeon. Others not so good.
Can someone explain Poke IV's to me? According to the calculator I have a 93.3% Vaporean.
From what I gather, your Stamina, Attack, and Defense can be any number from 0 to 15. Add up the three, divide by 45, and you have your percentage.
So a Pokemon with 15 attack, 14 defense, 13 stamina would be 42/45 = 93.333%
Need some clarification on ft gyms. If I drop off a Pokemon, do I only get one reward every 21 hours? Or can I just keep taking over a gym and keep on getting coins?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You can drop off multiple pokemon at different gyms, but only claim the rewards once every 21 hours. So if you have 5 pokemon at 5 different gyms, 50 coins when you claim and then you have to wait 21 hours. But if you only have 1, 10 coins and you have to wait 21 hours to claim again.
So yeah, essentially claim once a day regardless of whether you take over any gyms or not within 21 hours of claiming rewards
You need to hold the gym for the full 21 hours? Seems impossible honestly. My pokemon routinely get taken out within an hour or two of being setup in a gym. It's pretty easy to take people out, even if they're higher level than I am - so I imagine it's just as easy for others to kick me out as well. I haven't received any rewards, regardless.
You don't need to hold anything. Once you bank in your reward, doesn't matter if your Pokemon are in the gym anymore. It's just that if/when you go to collect rewards again, you'll have to taker over some gyms again to do so.
The moment you put your Pokemon in a gym, go to your "shop". In the top right corner should be a little button that lets you collect your coins for having a Pokemon in a gym. The moment you collect, a 21 hour timer starts counting down. If you have multiple Pokemon at multiple gyms at the moment you collect, you'll get more coins, but you can collect them the instant you have a Pokemon in a gym.
man im going to spend so much time going through magikarp trying to find the perfect one elvove almost at about 175 magikarp candies. going to try and hit 25 before then currently sitting at halfway to 22
Here's a better, more precise IV calculator. (Under IV Rater). There's also a neat chart on there for easily seeing the DPS of the moves your Pokemon have. For an ultimate collection you generally want to aim for the best IVs, highest CP and best moves possible all on one Pokemon. It could take a very long time to get a max collection or even just a really solid team.
So far since IVs were able to be calculated, I haven't gotten anything better than a 95% Meowth, which I evolved into a Persian with terrible CP and mediocre moves lolDid get a fairly good 91% Tangela with perfect moves out of an egg today. I've been tracking the IVs of my Pokemon that have hatched from eggs, and by and large they have all been in the 80 - 95% range. So it's possible that hatched Pokemon have a naturally boosted average of good IVs.
This is way more reliable than PokeVision for checking out spawns at any given location. Also has a ton more range. I use that map to find out what areas are worth visiting, then PokeVision from my phone for exact locations once I'm there. Used it to catch a Tauros a couple blocks away from my apartment a couple days ago, would have never found it just using the game radar / poke vision.
During the week, I've been using the map desktop app to track down places worth making a trip to in the PNW area and keeping notes of everywhere I find. Gonna spend the weekend driving around / sightseeing / catching things I don't have yet. Link, if anyone else lives in the area:
