South Park Season 19

Great setup, great ending, but the middle bit really dropped the ball this week. I really expected a lot more out of connecting the kids directly with ISIS, and it just kind of fizzled out without anything happening.

...you missed the whole point. It IS nothing, but people will freak out over nothing. How they related it to police was pure genius too. Imo one of the best ep of the season.

I can see what you're getting at, and I would be more prone to believe this if not for the line about ISIS wiring them some money and having ISIS tell them having a Jew in their group would be a problem. It set up an expectation that the group would be willing to do something shocking in order to prove themselves to what they perceived as master ninjas.

It was a nice subversion of South Park's formula of constantly ramping extremism throughout the episode, but it also made for a bit of disappointment.

I friggin loved how PC Principal and the fraternity reactions when they saw the paper. Shit was pure gold.

After this episode I'm starting to think this entire season is an elaborate setup for the next game.

It feels that way doesn't it? This season is definitely interesting. Six episodes that are connected, 7th episode throws in a over-arcing plot, and episode 8 drops the bombshell. I am really liking this format cause it totally caught me off guard.

Edit just watched it a second time, seems like this whole season is a setup to make fun of Reddit. They purged all of the bad content on Reddit (PC Principal), in order to make the city more attractive to advertisements and allow them to thrive (Leslie). Also there have been comments on the similarities between the logo on Leslie's shirt and Reddit's Logo.

I'm ready to call this the best season of any comedy I've ever seen, not just the best season of South Park. I can't remember any show I've ever laughed this hard at, this consistently. I mean, it's low hanging fruit-- but they are doing it so well.

Jimmy being PC Principal's kryptonite was such a fucking awesome angle. Whether they're tackling reddit or SJW or whatever they've been targetting specifically in each episode (which have all been different and great), this season is easily one of the best and has been such a good commentary on current day life.

Kind of sad there's only 2 episodes left in the season.
