Boom, snagged 2 tickets in a great balcony spot at Symphony Center for 8pm Chicago. If my S.O. decides it is too nerdy to go see this amazing event I'll gladly bring a BG member along.

Small bump, I just returned from the London one, as it's a 35th anniversary what they did was for the first half they joined a tunes from the pixel remasters into a performance, followed by a battle melody of all 6 games. all footage was captured with the pixel remasters and I remember hearing people saying the pixel remaster has an enhanced/better OST, so I presume the arrangements there was based off them.

I sat next to a rather young girl who I estimate to be 20, and french. We spoke a bit, but I stayed passive on engaging, she was rather hyper/energetic in that she would be cheering/screaming at the end of each song and be nearly first to clap (my mate on my left was saying "you were the first one to clap!" and i had to tell him it wasn't me but the girl next to me lol).

During intermission, we had an ad break of Crisis Core and FFXVI but of course it's nothing we haven't seen before

Post intermission, the choir group joined and from memory we went:
Liberi Fatali (FF8) (I joked that they skipped a game lol)
Ragnarok (!!!) (FF11) (This was a pleasant surprise)
Flash of Steel (FF12)
Torn from the Heavens (FF14) (with footage of a DRG dying to titan) (side note: hype girl next to me actually shouted "fuck yes!" lol ... and here me and my mate were thinking well, it's not that good; i think ultima weapon's theme would be a far better use of the choir group! but i'm happy to see she's really excited to be there; we're just more passive enjoyers)

Apocalypsis Noctis (FF15 with a shoutout to Yoko Shimomura who was present)

Suteki Da Ne (FF10, with Rikki on stage singing. She's so petite!)
This was wrapped up creatively by a pixelated credits screen and the tradition credits "Final Fantasy" tune with a choir accompanying it. the credits screen was kind of cute.

Was a great evening and a bit better than the 30th annivesary one I went to 5 years ago. The crowd appeared much more mature/older overall, previously I felt bad for the onstage people because people actually kept interrupting/shouting. Could be just a bad instance of course, but just saying my observations.

I suspect they got the guy who did the FFXIV Shadowbringers and Endwalkers job action videos on the on screen presentation/video. The transitions were slick and very well done!

EDIT: Had to look it up quickly but I remember now, Nashmeira's Plea for the Ragnarok track!
I felt like most the crowd wasn't there so it didn't resonate with them as much but if you fought it back at the time of release it was a nice challenge/struggle! So it was nice to hear the track to play back some nice mental nostalgia. I imagine these days now you can roll in there at 99 with a team of trusts and just faceroll the encounter lol

Side Note apart from fan covers I do not think there's an official EN version of the song! Same with FFXIII's song (they imported some existing song instead)

Went to LA as well. Already said my piece on BG discord. wanted to get a drinks at Yard House but that failed (fuck that 2 hour wait.) Thank goodness for the cocktails in the venue.

Nitsuki already said he's down; and i'll be there with 3 close friends; only warning is that if you do come korean food will be ruined for you there's a reasonw e drive 2hrs+ to go to iziban instead of going to our korean spot we have 15 mins away. it's that good
