Wish I had known that before dumping 2 million cruor on it. Oh well.

Beastmaster isn't a mage and can wear heavy armor so it never made sense for them to be in the backlines with the mages like a summoner, they should be up front fighting alongside their pets. In that regard the nerf makes perfect sense so they adhere to their design vision without having to gimp their damage. They're still powerful but they're no longer Beastsummoners, they can't just send off their real flesh and blood companions to go die for them while standing back in a lawn chair and sipping a piña colada, meanwhile actual summoners who literally manifest spiritual meatshield holograms made of pure energy literally designed to protect them constantly had to risk life and limb to issue bloodpact commands. So that change was warranted as well
It can be traded. So basically you need to find a bonecrafter then go farm dynamis for them.
Other chairs can't be synthed. Got the info from a JP blog, was the only thing on there. Everything else has been found/stated in the crafting thread here.
They've actually been leaving them off of a lot of heavy armor including sets that have the all the other traditional heavy armor jobs but bst lately notably recent ones off the top of my head are founders and terminal and putting them more with what pup gets. They've also been kept off of most shields that alot of heavy DDs get but aren't given native dual wield like basically every 1hd frontline job that doesn't use shields. So it ends up being /nin or gtfo even before the whole charmers thing
I wanted to max out all my atmacites, now that they've made them much cheaper, but I'm not sure I have enough left to cap them all after spending 2 million on the chair.
BST is like RDM with regards to shields... very low skill, and I think that is the reason they have about the same amount of shields available to them. There are some really nice shields available though for BST (Kaidate, Beatific +1, Matamata +1, Deliverance +1, Evalach +1, Thorfinn +1, Forfend +1). It's that BST don't want to give up the benefit of the charmer's merlin, they want to have their cake and eat it too. As for your comment about leaving off heavy armor... I'd say there's a few, not a lot. It's that BST are not full-on heavy DD as I see it, but in-between heavy and mid (like how RDM is between mid and light and why RDM is seen on both the light mage armor and the mid armor for light DDs) and so they are put on both sets but sometimes they are left out on the heavy as well as sometimes left out on the mid level armor (same goes for RDM, not always on the mid armor for light DDs, nor are they always on the light mage armor). BST, like RDM, is in-between and doesn't completely fit in one mold or another.
Capping Atmacites is still a HUGE pain in the ass.
Yeah that's kind of the problem this inbetweenness doesn't lend itself well to melee. Like those shields...none of them really lend themselves to DDing enough to really justify single wielding. On the other hand /nin just for dual wield makes you lose so much else which was my main point about that. Other 1hders get dual wield and others like war or drk that could 1hd get a good DD shield like blurred. Some might want their cake and eat it too but I'm just looking at it this way... giving up charmers is a huge dps loss to make up for it tping it helps not to either be hampered with mediocre DD subjob or sub slot.
That's why I said recently... like look back the last couple of updates and things you could call sets that weren't updated old sets that bst weren't on. This time was weird this time we were left out on terminal and gyve. Anyways my point wasn't that we don't get any so much as a counter point to the you are on heavy armor therefore you are definitely front line. We are sometimes on heavy armor sometimes on light. Historically we have sometimes been on the frontline sometimes not. We don't really fit in one or the other like you said and gear kind of goes to that... but this update makes the practicality of doing other things a bit lower
I agree BST shouldn't have been allowed to have more comfort than the most paper-thin job in the game, but practically preventing a 13-year old playstyle just seems silly. There were better ways they could have nerfed back line BST and encouraged front line BST, without throwing out the option to play the old way.
Thanks to the new combuster and items like the pants from Ouryu, BDT is very easy to cap now. Souveran head seems like something I'd use for casting interruption rate or in conjunction for the set effect. That set effect might be the only time I'd even consider removing the Ouryu pants when I needed BDT though.
When the price goes down...
for example by giving for each yalm further then 7 away from your pet:- 10% attack accuracy and defense and by giving for eacyh yalm closer then 7 to your pet +5% attack accuracy and defense for your pet. so the closer you are the stronger your pet the further awy the weaker your pet gets with 7 yalms being the sweet point. Did i do it right?
Should just give an ilvl charmer and cap the recast so we can't use both!
PLD can cap PDT, MDT, and BDT at the same time (that is, without having to swap gear) with moderate effort (large effort if you count burtgang).
relic body reforged (or one of the other newer -10% damage bodies)
4/5 yorium with -3% damage augment
twilight torque (or loricate collar +1 for more wiggle room in other slots)
defending ring
vocane ring (or good augmented dark ring)
Nierenschutz
Philidor Mantle or Impassive Mantle
now you can swap in the Loess Barbuta for more leeway in other slots, but at the cost of +20 acc/att from yorium augment.
I heard you pretty much need all that if you want to live vs the new unity dragon whose name escapes me at the moment (Hidaegg or some shit like that).
Maybe it's just that people are doing it wrong, I don't know.
people are doing it wrong. aegis pld, average dt set, shell5 + barfira + vex (honestly you barely need either of them) and you'll be fine
