Basically on point. Listening to Sam Seder today was fun on account of him recalling how people would call him in 2005 and still complain about what Bill Clinton did.

    Honestly, they could:
    1) Repeal Obamacare (yey, popular with their base) but keep funding it so nothing effectively changes (yey, everyone actually likes Obamacare by any other name)
    2) Replace it with a clone of the ACA that includes some cost-cutting measures that Republicans didn't allow in the first one
    3) Call it Trumpcare and inform people that the exchanges they love are now being run by Trumpcare
    4) Major profit with their base
    5) Another term for Trump

In some ways that represents both the best and worst scenario.

The problem is you have to get 10 democrats on board with it. Democrats could just stomp their feet and let republicans drown and hope to shift all blame on them for repealing it in the first place. Not I'd recommend it but its one of the many paths they can go down.

You must not be very familiar with politics. They could literally rename the law and brand it with any name but Obama and dumb fucks everywhere would be cheering their saviour on even though NOTHING CHANGED.

For actual repeal? Yes. But they are using reconciliation to gut the law from the inside which only requires a flat majority. Plus they have Pence.

This is what most Republicans want to try to do. But the tweaks will be more than just minor, I think they will kill guaranteed issue unless you've been continuously insured (or set a multiple of the deductible for x years, i.e. "Sure cancer survivor without continuous coverage, you can buy insurance but you have to pay 4x the deductible for 3 years before you are treated like people without a pre-existing condition"). They'll kill the individual mandate and somewhat roll back the medicaid expansion, and maybe block grant it to the states (which would be a disaster). They'll adjust how subsidies are calculated, maybe make them by age instead of income (again, stupid). Not sure how they'll fund the subsidies, they'll get serious pushback on any new taxes.

Stuff like that. But they'll need Democrats to pass it, and they'll allow the ACA to continue, "repeal but delay the implementation of the repeal" style until they do.

I mean for the actual passage of Trump care. Democrats could just let them gut the law via reconciliation and let them sit on their mess.

Obviously it'd no longer cover birth control, too.

Here's the responses from the Washington State senators for voting no.

Basically they say they're concerned about the quality of the drugs that would be imported. Bernie calls bullshit.

Pharma companies disown Shkreli; Pissed, Shkreli airs their dirty laundry

This week, a pharmaceutical trade group stepped up its efforts to distance itself from Martin Shkreli, the disgraced ex-CEO of several drug companies who gained notoriety for an eye-popping drug price increase and an indictment for securities fraud. The trade group even made a television ad to try to bolster its image and make clear that it is different—better—than the likes of Shkreli and his greedy ways.

Is it, though? If you ask Shkreli, it's not. And he’s made a website to try to convince you.

On the bare-bones Pharmaskeletons.com, an angry and vengeful Shkreli lists instances of greed, criminal behavior, and other sleaziness of individual members of the pharmaceutical trade group PhRMA. Not all his claims are backed up, explained, or accurate. But the site still offers an embarrassing catalogue of bad deeds, which Shkreli told STAT he would continually update.

So far, he’s listed out 26 companies and provided a little dirt on almost all of them. For instance, he noted that in 2004, Abbott Laboratories hiked the price of an AIDS drug by 400 percent, sparking public backlash and a boycott by doctors.

Revealed? I thought this fell into the "No Shit" category. Hell, even Corey Booker voting against this was driven by big pharma because of how many jobs they give to NJ people.
