It cratered quickly. I got curious and looked it up at about 1130 and it was showing only 45 minutes.

Is GE in DL still restricted to DL Resort guests still? I’m expecting it to be a total shit show in Orlando. We’re two years out now since Pandora opened at AK and wait times for Flight of Passage are still routinely at 2+ hours. Slinky Dog Dash at Hollywood Studios is consistently 90 minutes or more and it’s been open for a year. Universal just opened a new Harry Potter roller coaster this month and the lines are 4+ hours.
It was restricted to hotel guests and those who made online reservations until yesterday.
As of today it’s open to the general public until the area is capped off. If you arrive early enough for rope drop you can get in. Once it’s capped off you have to use the Disney app to get a “boarding pass” which is a virtual queue to get into the area. When it’s your turn you get a push notification letting you know that you are able to enter.
Tummie already summed up the procedure. I think between Cars Land at DCA (Radiator Springs Racers that first week was hitting 300+ minute waits), Pandora, and Toy Story Land, I think they wanted to avoid the bad press and it seems it's working. I was hearing the new Harry Potter coaster hit lines of 600+ minutes, which is just absolutely fucking insane. Worst waits I've ever done was about 3 hours each for Indiana Jones and Splash Mountain when they first opened as Fast Pass wasn't even conceived yet.
GotG Mission Breakout was close to an 8hr wait on opening day and that ride was just a re-skinned/re-themed tower of terror. The boarding pass method appears to be working to keep the lines under 2 hours even when it does have a high replay value.
The new HP roller coaster at Universal follows their tradition of not being fatty friendly, feelsbadman. The Universal app cautions that people with a 40 inch waistline or bigger may not be able to ride.
I’d assume it’s mostly the fault of statistical analysis and physics.
I wasn’t there that day but twitter users were saying it was 7+ hours. I checked touring plans which has historical data and it peaked at 5 hrs https://touringplans.com/disney-cali...ate/2017-05-27
Touring plans is pretty horrible, especially when it comes to disneyland. They've been pretty inaccurate for a few years now. The only way I could see it ticking above 3 hours was if it went down. Even at 5 hours, that would have been on par with RSR and I would have remembered that.
Oh man looks like Kyber Crystals can now only be purchased when buying a holocron. So now instead of a $13 purchase you now need to pay an additional $50
Seriously, wtf. The fact that when you buy a lightsaber you would want new ones to change the color of the lightsaber this sucks. I blame the assholes trying to find the black kyber crystals and literally bowling over the cast members when the red ones were stocked.

I'm pretty shocked that Disneyland is offering "Bring a friend" promotion through end of August for AP holders. $99 for a 1 day park hopper for a friend, or if you are an AP holder blocked out can purchase the ticket too which basically is a blackout day ticket.
I stand by this was a contingency plan by Disney if crowds weren't as expected after SWGE opening. The crowd levels have been insanely low so far due to the new annual passes blackout tiers.

Even CM blackouts have been lifted somewhat which really says something. Now given how anticipated SWGE was and how popular reservations were I feel that I can understand their thinking. I also actually was glad they changed blackout days so much because of how much of a locals park Disneyland is vs World it can be insane as I've seen the shift since being an AP holder for the most of the last 6 years.
I actually currently have a deluxe pass and think the blackout days are fair. And with the friend deal those blacked put passholder can get back in too which those types of tickets haven't been available for awhile.
I'm trying to figure out how to sneak a trio down now before my September WDW one because I love the main street electrical parade.

Glad I didn’t go to Disneyland today as there was a brawl up in ToonTown:

I'm amazed no one was screaming world star hip hop at the top of their lungs during that.
