Star Tours at all parks is being updated April 5th to include new adventures with Andor, Ahsoka, and Mando/Grogu
I’m signed up to do the Pluto 5k during marathon weekend in January. My first run Disney event. I’m excited!
Disney has updated their DAS requirements today. WDW visitors must do it online now via video, no more going to guest services. Disneyland at least, for a short while will still have in person appointments at guest services, but not at city hall.
Also, unless you get a special exemption, party size is going to be limited to 4 including the person the DAS is for.
Victoria & Albert’s at the Grand Floridian has been awarded a Michelin star, the first Disney owned and operated restaurant in history to achieve this accomplishment
A lot of people are upset about this because there are some hidden disabilities and the wording on the Disney website makes it seem like they are only honoring DAS for developmental issues. Seems like it is on a case by case basis, but my wife and I haven't used DAS in months so I don't know how much it will affect us since she has one of the invisible disabilities.
June 28th for the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. Good timing just before 4th of July weekend.
Disney is dropping the Genie+ branding and bringing back some facets of the the previous Fast Pass+ system. Now it’s going to me called Lightning Lane Single Pass (for the one paid mega attraction) and Lightning Lane Multi Pass (the three you can pick). At Disney World, resort guests will be able to purchase and book up to 7 days in advance while non-resort guests can book 3 days in advance. At Disneyland, it will remain a day of visit purchase & booking.
Tonight is the parks panel at D23 so probably gonna get some big news. I’m expecting 3rd gate for Disneyland. Other than the already announced changes at last D23 for WDW I’m not sure what to expect for Orlando. Some people are speculating a 5th gate to counter Universal’s Epic Universe but I don’t think they would want to be building two all new parks at the same time and I think DL is more likely to get a new park before Orlando.
I'm going to WDW next week and I have a reservation for three nights at Pop Century, its about $160/night. I've been eyeballing Port Orleans French Quarter because its only $200/night and I really like the hotel. I'm like well its only around an extra $120, I think I can justify the upgrade, but lets hold off for now.
This morning I logged on to buy my Lightning Lanes for three days, $120. Welp, that's the difference guess Pop it is!
This is the funniest article I've ever read

“My wife and I are both dead set that this is an absolute wrong, and we will fight this to the death,” Scott, who owns a golf course in Gilbert, Ariz., told The Times. “There is no way we’re letting this go.”
He said the lawsuit has cost him about $400,000.
“My retirement is set back five years,” he said. “I’m paying through the nose. Every day, I’m seeing another bill, and I’m about to keel over.” He said he will appeal.
His wife said she wants to keep fighting.
“I’ll sell a kidney,” Diana said. “I don’t care.”
Universal’s Epic Universe will officially open May 22nd, 2025
The Muppets are moving at Hollywood Studios.
Muppets Courtyard will be taken over for the new Monstropolis area and roller coaster. Muppet Vision 3D will be permanently closing. The muppets instead are moving over to Sunset Boulevard area and will take over the current Rock’n Rollercoaster featuring Aerosmith. The new theming will be Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
Epcot caught on fire today. Apparently it was a small building behind France. Ratatouille is safe.
Late to the Kuka arm stuff but: I finally went to HP land in Hollywood last year. I was amazed at the tech for the forbidden journey ride, and had to look up how it was done.
For some reason it popped into my head this morning, and I decided to show my husband the Kuka Arm. I told him about how universal had the rights.
So my phone was listening to me (j/k or am I), and I got a video pop up of the Stark Test Flight ride that’s being worked on. I guess the rights expired in 2017:

I had read an article that imagineers were pretty frustrated back when the rights were being bid on. That’s why they went the trackless route.
It will be interesting to see how they end up using them. Also I am curious how they compare. I’m a little nervous over the fact the arms are stationary and are attaching to the cart, rather than being permanently fixed to you and go on a track. Feels like more room for injuries. But I am gonna guess they are using some similar tech to the way your vehicle gets attached on the RoTR ride at the end.
Disney CEO Bob Iger announced a new Disneyland park this morning is coming to Abu Dhabi in the UAE…don’t think I’ll be visiting that one, yeesh.
Probably to compete regionally with Six Flags Qiddiya City, opening later this year in Saudi Arabia.
Which, among other offerings, will have numerous themed worlds and attractions, among them the world's tallest, longest, fastest roller coaster (each by a very wide margin) named Falcon's Flight.
Length 13,943.6 ft
Elevation 639.8 ft
Drop 519.0 ft
Speed 155.3 mph
The below is an animation from 2023, but construction of all attractions is quite far along as they're aiming for a late 2025 opening.
