As much as seeing the Flames getting rocked by the Jets right now annoys me, I'm quite happy that it'll serve as a good measuring stick for the players fighting for a roster spot. Should really differentiate who deserves a spot

It comes down to 3 very good teams in PIT, NYR, WAS and 3 good teams in CBJ, NYI, PHI who could creep up if they get lucky. Metro and Central are just stacked

Side note, if I'm annoying you guys by posting the NWHL stuff I can make a separate thread for it, I'm just really excited about this and so are a lot of the other female hockey fans I talk to. I concur with this! Hopefully the NWHL and CWHL can both grow and eventually unify into 1 strong hockey league

Let's fucking hope so. He had 4 assists in 15 games with the Flames last season. He played 26 games the season before that and then 20 games before that season. So it's fair to say he had his chances to make an impact at the NHL level.

Noone wants to hear about that here though. I've been trying to keep up with news and goings on. I can't believe the regular season is almost here.
