he is clearly hit in the face, not hard but clearly hit, Ref and anyone calling him out are stupid. People freak out and fall over if a fly comes close to their face, getting hit by a stick, while skating forward isn't gonna feel great, no matter how hard it was.

He clearly got clipped in the face, but I think the ref decided to light him up for the embellishment when he looked over at him for a call. He was fine with the initial face grab.

It didn't really even look like he looked at the ref. He kind of glances towards the slot and then tries to play the puck even. He probably did something stupid to piss off the ref from before. I don't even know if it'd be called for high-sticking, he skates into the goalie's follow-thru. But I mean, if I got clipped near the chin/neck, I'd definitely react like that too lol
