The entire Pacific is playing .500 hockey except for Vancouver which ESPN detailed this weekend as being just as bad as everyone predicted, having won only 11 of their first 31 games, but has so many loser points in OT/SO that they're actually only one point out of the third playoff spot in the division. The NHL really shouldn't have mandated top 3 from each division goes to the playoff after seeing some of the sub-.500 teams the NBAs had in its postseason. Especially on top of that with the West only having 7 teams vs the East's 8 per division currently.

Anyways, Pens won last night as not playing Rob Scuderi the next 53 games is surely worth at least a 2 point improvement in our final record.

Ducks are still getting over their Round 7 loss to the Hawks last year. That's a fucking brutal ass beat down Game 5 Exit > Game 6 Exit > Game 7 Exit... takes its toll I'm sure.

The fact that Oilers - although not the best defensively - have a 6 game winning streak and in the playoff hunt (though incredibly tight) - and doing this without McDavid and Yakupov is damn impressive.

They're getting some decent goaltending and their defense actually has some semblance of structure now. That and Hall+Draisaitl are playing amazingly well together and Ebs+The Nuge are finally getting their shit together too. If they keep this momentum going, it'll be really interesting to see how good the team plays when McD comes back

NHL basically officially said "Nope" to KeyArena, so it's "new arena" or "no arena" for Seattle. Seems like everything is lining up for the SoDo arena right now, hopefully the city council vote around Jan 1 will lock in the arena construction, and then it's just a waiting game for the Canes or the Yotes (and also maybe the Clippers or 76ers).

Kass got reinstated....then put on waivers right away lol

No ones gonna pick Kass up though. He had no training camp, and he's recovering from a broken foot. If a team picks him up, they have to stick him on their NHL roster, they cant send him to their AHL team to get in game shape.
