I'd like to think that the general public is above making terrible jokes like "KANE RAPED THAT NET" but the general public is generally terrible.

I think it'd be poor taste if the NHL was treating this delicately and suspending him w/ pay, but since the NHL think hes ok to be on the national spotlight and held up as a star of the sport's champion, he should be fair game for mockery. The NHL is doing a piss poor job of these situations - the only thing more embarrassing on NHL Live than Torterella defending Torres earlier this week was watching EJ Hradek talk about the Kings D Depth post-Voynov without using the words 'domestic' 'violence' or 'assault'. He didn't have some 'significant personal issues that were unable to be resolved' and he didn't have 'immigration issues' - he had anger issues that caused him to put his wife's head through - not merely into, through - a TV and its not helping anyone to refer to it in the former manners.

I don't disagree with you, but making fun of Kane is one thing. Making fun of rape, however, is another. I know people disagree with me on this but making rape jokes trivializes it, which is not good. I'm all for people making fun of Kane, but there are things that shouldn't be said. Like "Kane won't be denied!" Seems innocent enough, but when you put it in another context, it's pretty terrible.
