I don't disagree with you, but making fun of Kane is one thing. Making fun of rape, however, is another. I know people disagree with me on this but making rape jokes trivializes it, which is not good. I'm all for people making fun of Kane, but there are things that shouldn't be said. Like "Kane won't be denied!" Seems innocent enough, but when you put it in another context, it's pretty terrible.

Making fun of rape would be inappropriate but how would you feel about making fun of domestic incidents in the NHL in general? (Voynov, Kane, Varlamov, Ribeiro, etc). While the crimes may differ from incident to incident and making fun of none of them individually would be worthwhile, drawing attention to the failures of the NHL to consistently discipline them and set a uniform message would force the NHL to step their game up and possibly (and theres no way of ever knowing how many crimes aren't committed cause in someone's head they stopped right before the point of no return) - just possibly - prevent via employer deterrence a crime or two against the flings, babysitters, girlfriends, fiances, and wives of NHL players?

Like jokes implying that the NHL is too soft on this kind of shit, or things of that nature? If it gets them to take a harder line against that kind of toxic shit, then I'm all for it. Obviously there's a difference between making fun of domestic violence itself but making fun of the NHL's reaction to it.
