We established this in pre-season when I said the Flames goalie of the future was a 21 yr old playing in the AHL.
Ortio will finally get his first start tomorrow. He was pretty average in the AHL last season with a 2.69GAA and a 0.912SV%. He had 1 hot patch last season but ultimately I don't expect a whole lot out of him.
Last 10 minutes had me in rage mode, but they pulled it out.
P.S.
Stop doing dumb fucking plays like that Buff.
I've heard it's better than the old moonjersey sites bit it still isn't perfect. If you don't mind clipping some loose threads and not having it be 100% correct it's pretty good
E: also some of the stores have been linked with phone or email scammers so like I said order from one that has a bunch of good reviews
Time to see if one of the Alberta teams remembers how to play hackey tonight![]()
McDavid has 5 goals and 8 points so far in 8 games this season. And they all came in the last 4 games too (...starting with the game against the Flames... you're welcome Richybearbear). Kid is on pace for 50 goals and 80 points in his rookie year >_>
9 points for McD ._.
Kid is fucking FAST, wow
LOL <3 Vasp.
Was funny after the first 4 games and the "OMG, terrible pick!" and it's like settle down down, people
Leafs have 4 goals on Carey Price (on 89 shots...), the rest of the league combined only has 5.
Perds lock up Ekholm for 6 years boooom!

We don't have any dedicated Islander fans right? Well then, yadda yadda, fuck the Isles, go Flames go and such.
This Brooklyn arena is so empty. I thought the Isles had a decent fanbase? I know it's just a game against the Flames but still, it's like a 1 seat taken:2 seats empty ratio. Also, there's a doode with an Oiler's McDavid jersey =/
Islanders have been bottom five in attendance for forever I'm reasonably sure.
Watching the last few Flames game, it's clear as day they're trying to use a different play-style compared to last year. Obviously we all know about Calgary's lack of possession and terrible Corsi and etc, etc. And watching the team play this season, it just looks like all the players that were here last year are trying to adjust to a new system and they're not entirely comfortable with it yet. Passes are sloppy, entries into the O-Zone are weak, and it just looks like they're not confident or certain about what to do in the offensive zone. Defensively they haven't been terrible, and on a surface level most games haven't looked as lopsided as they did last year (I haven't really looked at any numbers, so take that statement with a grain of salt).
I can't help but think that maybe this might be a new style for Hartley too, considering what he asked of the team last year too. But ultimately I think the team/coaching/management are trying to focus more so on possessing the puck more and not getting so barraged by an onslaught of shots by opponents like what happened practically every game last year.
Honestly, this is just a hunch by a fan purely created by watching the team play and comparing it to what I saw last year. If I'm right though and the team is trying to fix their ultimately broken play system from last year, then I'm okay with the team not having such a hot record. They're not ready to compete for the cup at all this year, but if they're trying to build a strong foundation to work off of then it's well worth the effort and tribulations!
Also, Max Domi scored on Toronto. Kid is good.
Man as much as we've been improving on the whole, our Penalty Kill is just killing us.
I hope that hit Hanzal so I at least get some points out of it.
Oh hey that might be high sticking.
Matthias finally bags one as a Leaf.
