The reason it felt like this is simple - movement through the zones. Pre-Trotz caps hockey is typified by the dump 'n' chase. Lack of C depth and generally weak systems led to the inability to manuever into the opponent's zone. Last night, they just could not get the puck through the blue lines.
I credit the Penguins for playing very well defensively, and I discredit Caps players for being sloppy passers the entire night. I also discredit NHL scheduling.
Caps were also terrible on the dots, which didn't help things.
Working the nightshift tonight, but it should be pretty dead. So I should be able to watch the game lol.
Fleury just played very well combined with a third period collapse from the Caps; I wouldn't sweat it too much
We were doing a transfer order to our Montreal location and they arranged the shipping. So a driver came out from a tiny little area by Montreal today for the pick-up and in very broken English asked if he was in the right spot. I think I made his day when I replied "Oui, et j'ai parle francais un petit peu." Got bugging him that since he was already in Edmonton, he could just head downtown and watch the Habs/Oilers game tonight. When he left, all he said was "Good luck tonight, may the best team win. HAHAHAHA Go HABS!" and closed the door. LOL
awsome
Semin not playing tonight
More importantly
Flynn taking Semin's spot and Byron on the fourth.
