Okay, now I'm just going into hockey stat-nerd overload. Jagr could potentially pass Mark Messier for 2nd in all-time points scoring if he plays another season beyond this one. What blows my mind is that, even if he passes Messier, he's still 1000 points behind Gretzky for first overall. That's fucking nuts.

Oh totally. His numbers are nuts too. He played in just over 800 less games than Messier and was only like 150 points shy of his totals (Messier being the 2nd highest scorer). If it wasn't for all his health issues, he may not have caught Gretzky with the pace he was going, but he would have been damn close.

Word on the twitter is that McD has a fractured collarbone. Could be severe and long-term, or could be not too bad depending on the fracture. Bob Mackenzie compared it to Patrick Kane saying Kane was told he'd have a 12-week recovery and was able to make it back in 7. But to further what Nynja was saying earlier, this is the 3rd November in a row that McD has suffered an injury

It's close but not entirely accurate. Gretzky had 894 goals, Messier had 1887 points. So it'd be more accurate to say that Gretzky had more assists (1963, which is fucking nuts in itself) than the next person had total points. His goal totals not even being a factor

He has his issues but cost-controlled top-6 forwards don't grow on trees. And he's been excellent at controlled offensive zone entries his whole career.
