It's the quest immediately before "Chacharoon's Cheer"...

i didnt do anything else on that character before cry not, caretaker, so i would say no.

however, i probably have another char that can do that quest line to confirm it.

Just do the initial "trade gugru tuna" to "finish". I haven't done anything beyond that since the July? update when they updated that NPC

I notice JP players tend to be more prone to whacking the zone bosses than NA ones, but that does add good reason to it. Ru'Ann gives Refresh vorseal, Zi'Tah Regen is clear, and it goes up at 1, 5, 10, 20...guessing 40, 80, 160, 320(!) repeats would get you 8/8 eventually given the progression in the clue. That bit at least is nice to have confirmed, though it's logical progression.

I'm just disappointed in myself for not reading the adventuring fellow vorseal requirement clearly, there I am levelling my fellow and then seeing that the quest that gives you the vorseal is the one that unlocks the fellow and thus I had already got it.

Still raising a chocobo for the chocobo racing vorseal mind!

It's pretty bad, I'm just over 2 weeks in and my chocobo is still a chick, I can only feed it gyshal greens because all the other feed is stuck behind either gardening or chocobucks.

Although upon investigating a bit, growing vomp carrots should only take 6 days, I might set up some flowerpots today, I should get about a week of decent feed before my chocobo becomes an adult.

It takes a minimum of 3,5 weeks to get a decent running Chocobo, and that's if you do everything PERFECTLY and are lucky (there are some RNG aspects here and there that you can't control).
Things are harder now because of the availability of mats/feed/stuff.
And even then, 3,5 weeks might not be enough to consistantly win races.

Realistically it's more like a 6 weeks minimum effort of daily interactions. Can skip a few days, but the more you skip, the harder it gets.


It's not "impossible" of course, but given nowadays' standards and given the availability of stuff (you'd have to farm/grow those things on your own) it's a pretty annoying and time-consuming task.
SE could do a thing or two to ease it up through curio moogles. I don't expect it... but I'm hoping for it I guess.

I'm gonna start growing some Vomp carrots tonight but I hope I haven't missed too much stat growth from not using carrots, I just want to win the relevant races and be done.

Been feeding my Chocobo Sharug Greens (hard for me to get carrots) since Day ~6 and he's still poor in everything when I just hit adolesence today. I think I also fucked up and also forgot to change out of basic plan until a few days ago. Any idea if I'm severely lagging behind or do we just not see the gains until adolesence/adulthood?

Hopefully I can spam Racing tokens to victory?
