When he actually decided to go with Dickey I expected the loss. Since last night I was hoping he'd have a change of heart and not let Dickey pitch, my prayers were not answered though. Here's to hoping Estrada/Price/Stroman can all manage to pitch some gems over the next 3 games.......

The worst thing about it is there's no way the Jays will fire Gibbons this season, they're going to have to implode in the regular season first.

With that said, I don't know that I've heard a Jays fan ever praise Gibbons, AA's a pretty smart guy, I don't see how he can't make a change this year, fans will be screaming all summer

You say that, but he decimated our pool of prospects to pick up some good (well, great, honestly) position players and a rental pitcher we probably won't be able to re-sign, to make a run at the playoffs with a manager that no one in their right mind believes should be behind the bench.

I know we won't re-sign Price, but if we can make a change and get Gibbons out of there, and sign some bullpen guys this off-season and try to sign a decent starter, I don't see why we can't be back right here with the line up we have. Hopefully Hutch can get his shit together, same with Sanchez trying to get back to being a starter.

Correction: Rogers is not likely to fork over the money he's going to want. Rogers could afford whatever he wants, whether or not they'll actually cough up the money is another matter entirely.

AA's done a great job putting the squeeze on them and getting them to cough up some money over the past years, but I'm sure Price is going to seek somewhere near Scherzer $$$($210M?), and I don't know that AA can squeeze that kind of loot out of Rogers.
