Stupid fucking wrigley field
Stupid fucking wrigley field
Cubs got a huge fucking break there
He should have gotten tossed for that. Everybody knows that's a ground rule double at Wrigley.
Cut the fucking hedges you backwater fucks
It was simultaneously a bullshit ground rule and completely legit. Understandable leniency for bitching about it
Royals-Jays was just brutal to watch. I finished work at 4 and usually get home by 4:15. The game was already over before I even reached the halfway point home. I really hope they can win 3 in a row and do to the Royals what they did to us in 1985. Here's hoping.
Woo
Degrominant.
Well it was fun while it lasted but there's no way they are going to be able to dig themselves out of a 3-0 hole.
i can't believe how good all these mets are going to look in yankee uniforms next year omg
no they'll sign all of them and they'll immediately suck
I can't believe we're getting a Mets Jets superbowl
Just saying but the Mets have a chance to prove Back to the Future 2 wrong once and for all on Back to the Future day
Why are people freaking out about a ground rule double from the ball getting lost in the ivy? This happens all the time, was something weird about this one?
(i didn't see the play)
eh I think it's just a case of the weirdos having a wall covered in ivy more than anything else
2 outs, runner on 1st (iirc), it's a low liner that the RF completely botches a dive for, so it goes past him all the way to the wall. easy triple, maybe inside the park HR (although I think the CF got there quick and would have held him to 3rd). ball takes a little hop on the track and disappears into ivy just above the ground. understandable complaint as it cost the Mets 1-2 runs but as you said that's always how it's been in Wrigley
Mets won anyway so it's moot.
Also didn't help that it was to right field, and the RF'er dove (in) without touching the ball. Then it slowwwwwwwwwwwwwly rolled to the wall with nobody in sight cos the fielder didn't even get up. It didn't so much get stuck in the ivy as it did hit the ivy with such little force that there was no chance of a bounce-back. With a faster runner it had a chance to be an inside the park kind of deal.
Stupid ass little league shit if you ask me, I'm glad it didn't end up mattering.
Co worker is a huge jays fan. We spent the day keeping the score away from him. He was so excited about going home and watching it on pvr. It was over by the time he got home.
