I'm not sure how the NBA handles their fines for flopping/diving. The NHL does a staggered system wherein the first warning is private. If the player continues to do it, they're fined and publicly called out (aka, somewhat humiliated/given a very public reputation). If they keep doing it, it constantly gets released publicly and the fines increase to the point where the coach eventually starts getting fined too.

It hasn't totally eliminated it from hockey, but it definitely adds a sense of shame to constantly doing it which has lessened it quite a bit. I feel like the NBA could benefit from a shaming system like this too but it really depends on how badly the league wants to eliminate it from the game, versus keeping it in and helping keep the "Shaqtin a fool" segment full of awful clips.

LeBron James and Tristan Thompson are playing perfect basketball but the Warriors' effort level is embarrassing. the sequence with Thompson getting the defensive rebound, then outrunning Ezeli up the court despite getting fouled and held for the wide-open transition dunk is the perfect encapsulation for the quarter

Dubs are getting decent looks on offense even if everybody's shot is off and they are as per usual turnover happy, but they're getting run off the court in transition and have 0 interior defense
