The Rockets did just enough to get to the playoffs so they would lose their first round pick. #8 seed was the worst case scenario for them, for even more than the normal reasons you don't want to be a #8 seed playing the team with the best regular season record in NBA history.

And holy cow, the western conference playoffs may end up worse than I thought. I'd put the over/under for wins by lower seeded teams in this round (combined) at 3.5, and that might be high. And the number of series that gets to a game 6 at 0.5.
