In such an instance, it would be easy to moderate then, simply delete the threads that didn't use the correct color coding. I see what you mean though.

Well, they get a fair amount of comments on (at least the question megathreads). But, some special snowflake will always believe their FFXIV Pumpkin carving is amazing and deserves special attention. I don't see any way around it because no matter the forum people will always find a way of being stupid.

I know their threads get a good number of comments; I read it most days. The people posting separate threads aren't all special snowflakes; most are just ignorant of the existence of the megathread.

It's just because of how this game is structured. Things are purposely designed so people have a very hard time fucking each other over. Gil has no value, there aren't really "rare" drops you wait months or years for, and there's no open world mechanism to pin guilds against each other and give people reasons to hate other groups. We have competition over who clears stuff first each progression patch, but the closest we've ever come in this game is hunts. I loved hunts, that drama was so much fun. I really wish there was open world pvp or some kind of relevant world spawn so we could get out there and have a good time causing a scene. I always tell my FC they are letting me down because so far in our guild no one has:

1) Stolen the bank or a hoard of items and then tried to RMT them for thousands of dollars
2) Sent nudes to someone else then when they had a falling out plastered the nudes on the website/somewhere else online as revenge
3) Met up and banged each other then caused drama because some dude with power is now getting his knob gobbled and gives preferential treatment to his fuck buddy
4) Stolen someone else's account and then demanded a sum of money through paypal for its safe return

As a leader, I am extremely disappointed in my FC.

XIV really is boring community wise compared to XI...no Poof/Gaea of this generation. (I was her friend but still..no denying the drama she caused on FFXIAH with that sex for gil stuff.)

Ah poof. There were definitely dozens of topics she caused drama in here in the good ol' XI days.

Though I'd personally give the second coming of poof a miss. I'd rather have another Taj (yeah I know, public enemy #1). Some of the shit he did was horrible and fucked, but most of it constituted the pinnacle of epic threads. Even just for the ffxiclopedia shit and app lists alone. Mmm that vintage drama, those were the days.

Hunt drama can be fairly entertaining. When hunts are on, you've got people scapegoating certain FCs for early pulls and copious amounts of whining about "y cant you wait for WHOLE SERVER to b here b4 pull?!/!??1/" Although the drama is ultimately empty fluff, because it's hunts, which pop all the fucking time and have nowhere near the impact of a Fafhogg claim or a LS bank getting stolen or w/e. That ruins the allure a bit. And you know we're never gonna see drama from SE themselves along the lines of Salvage bans again because they need the subs

Yeah, those salvage bans haha. It's funny how most of the drama were because of MercX being decimated and certain people who felt they never would get touched..more so than the fact SE did the bans in the first place. Ah well. I never had issues browsing reddit but the layout always kind of irks me since it reminds me of JP BBS's layout sometimes, just obnoxious to browse on default settings on some boards. I don't mind all the art stuff since..realistically, that's all XIV is good for.
