KMFDM... I'd just like to say. I like ffxiv, enjoy reading reddit. I didn't really know who you guys were before this, and I guess I probably do now... so there's that. You've got some attention! Yay. But for the record, I think for me the problem is, it's just so hard to care about this shit. BG during the ffxi days was intense, because the game was hard and/or took a lot of time to get good at. Then, you actually needed other people who were good to do things to fucking get anywhere. FFXIV is basically a solo RPG with a group finder, market board, and dungeons. It's easy as fuck. How you could possibly get this intense about ANYTHING to do with this game should be kind of embarrassing, and you should probably take a look at yourself, your life choices, and your levels of mindfulness regarding the way you approach being a human being.

P.S. - KMFDM is a great band. It's kind of annoying to me that you use that acronym.

That's about it. Thanks for coming to BG though, it's been fun to read your pseudo-drama and be reminded of years gone by. Some of your earlier "ass handing" was all right to read. You gotta have an exit plan though. Otherwise you're just ffxiv's charlie sheen.

FFXI was easy. You just leveled a job to 75. Joined a HNMLS. Got gear. Joined a better HNMLS. Got better gear. Rinse and repeat until you quit or got LM-17'd.

The ToAU kind. I never bothered fully with Sea, dabbled very little in Sky, got to see Proto-Omega once. Never fought Bahamut v2. Never really did Salvage (Wasn't in with the right people in my LS when I was most active. I did eventually leave that LS).z

I got captain rank. Floor 100 in Nyzul. Saw through the end of the stories and god knows what else. I don't know how i played so long without getting anything worthwhile out of Dynamis, Sky, Sea, etc...

Then again the 3 times I did Dynamis were the most boring times of my life.

Just being a level75 body got you into a lot of things. Hell you didn't need to be 75 for Sky. (I cleared 18-man ark angels as a 68 WHM/32 BLM. Hella gimped.

Most fights in FFXI didn't take more than one try outside of Chains of Promathia. XI wasn't hard, but fuck if you had to bash your face into a lot of things to get better gear.

Your experience in XI shows you didn't really commit much to the game and played it casually. You can't really make that assessment.

That's fine that you don't want to bash your head into it, but you have no where near as accurate of an assessment as someone who has actually been through the content.

Back to your comment earlier. It's cute that you have come to a forum and think so highly of yourself above it's community that was largely built by players that were committed to excellence in XI because you were too busy in "real life". It must be hard for you to rationalize that people enjoy their hobby and actually want to commit a lot time to it so they can enjoy it to it's fullest.

XI and/or XIV aren't just games for some players, they're a place for people to come together with their friends and/or meet entirely new people from around the world they wouldn't have been able to otherwise. I've spent over a decade of my life playing both of these games meeting some amazing and shitty people alike. I wouldn't take one of those years back and I imagine a lot of others here wouldn't either. I'm quiet proud to say that XI took over my life because I enjoyed every second of it.

So if you want to come here and laugh at anyone here about how XI and/or XIV took over our lives, you can go fuck yourself.
