Huh on the main My nintendo page I have 310 Miitomo and 510 Platinum, but if i click my account name on the top right it says I have 810 Platinum, which seems to make sense since I can redeem the 15% off Yoshi woolly world that cost 750 platinum

Miitomo points count as platinum, but there's text... somewhere... that says they can also be used for Miitomo exclusive stuff. I spent entirely too much time dicking around with the app last night.

I tweeted literally just the hashtag and got two people to follow me that way. I added them back and then everything snowballed.

The app will let you know if your friends have mutual friends, so if A and B both know C, it'll prompt you to request to be C's friend. Which adds C's friends to the pool, and he happens to know D and E, who both know B as well, so you add them, and they happen to know F G H and I who all also know A, and then you're fighting the god damned hydra trying to clear out suggested friends because it can really only grow exponentially.
