    I guess the point is that google has a direct connect to the ISP's. Meaning any traffic going from ISP to google is done on a private backbone. Which IMO is good, the amount of traffic google causes, is being taken off of the main ISP backbone. I see it as simple load balancing. Netflix has been offering this service to ISP's like comcast for a while now.

    I somehow doubt there is a private backbone which connects Google with various ISPs. It'd make more sense if Google simply had servers housed on location at these ISPs, which they updated remotely. But then again, I'm only basing this off that infographic, which is about as technical of a document as a kindergarten doodle.
