I suppose it all depends on if this type of thing was done with all religions or not. All religions, I don't see an issue. Muslim only, then it is a problem.

Even if it's not all religions, I don't see any problems if it was for teaching purposes, whether academic or social. And, it all depends on the manner it was taught. Teaching kids "hey, this is what Muslim culture is about" for the sake of accurate cultural knowledge of their peers is absolutely fine (which the body of text seems to suggest) is very different from forcing them to take part in religious rituals (which the headline and lede seem to suggest).

The headline seems a bit dubious to me; actively participating in chants is very different from having to memorize something. And the quotation around both instances of forces is pretty questionable.

Oddly stances like that seem to be more and more common these especially amongst those types. Gotta play both sides when it suits if you want to always win. It's almost as funny as the people crying that they need segregation to fight racism lol

It's an inevitable conflict between the -gender and -sexual PC cultures.

-genders think that you should be able to freely choose your gender (collection of stereotypes previously thought to be sex-associated).

-sexuals think that your sex doesn't say anything about who you are (who/what you like/hate).

If there weren't all these common enemies to unify them then the groups would necessarily turn on each other and tear the movement apart due to their diametric philosophical differences. One side relies on the existence of gender-based stereotypes and the other rejects them.

Tried pointing this out and I had two female friends still hop straight on the "BUT THE SIDE EFFECTS ARE JUST AS BAD AS" bandwagon. I've been meaning to look into how many women actually suffer infertility for a year+ or even potentially permanent infertility as a followup to finding out why male birth control was halted, but I'm not even sure that it's worth it to continue the conversation.
