My experience with religion in other places is basically "Oh, you have a holiday? Happy holiday!" No one fucking cares at all.

The "War on Christmas" thing hasn't ever been a big deal here in Canada, everyone believes different shit and as long as you treat people with due respect they don't get mad, someone says "Merry Christmas." just be polite and say "To you as well." Or something to that effect, biggest difference I see between the USA and Canada is pent up anger for whatever reason, no clue why a lot of Americans are so angry about the stupidest shit lol

Canadians are just lovely. I'm taking the GF up to Montreal and Toronto this winter at some point. Her dad's family is Quebecois. So excited to get to the land of maple syrup and smiles.

Most the time it's not really about Christmas or Christianity specifically even though it's what's stated. It's more about change. Some seem to wish to rebel against what is/was popular often using catchphrases about inclusivity or attacks on it. Others prefer the status quo regardless and when they talk about values are really saying stop raping my childhood
