Sort of. It's more than them just not question but my experience with various colleges in the UC system (including our community colleges) it's more that the open areas are generally open to the public though sometimes with restrictions that must be followed. Like anyone can use the track at the one near my house (during daylight hours anyways) but the gym is for students/faculty and will kick you out if you don't have an ID for such. Or like I need to be registered to go to the classes but as long as I don't break the rules I can use the library. It's more like a low security government building

That said other than a few it was surprisingly chill. At parts I didn't even realize it was a protest thought it was just some kind event for hipsters to hang out and stare at their phones while the professor yells at cops. Still decent entertainment for the night
