My favorite quote from a FB post about it:
"When you are getting knocked the fuck out by Jake from State Farm, you need to reevaluate your life choices."
after seeing pics of that dude its definitely a fair fight. he's like 5'2 and tucks his shirt into jeans.
Yo legit. I love my department head at work, but she went to Berkeley and acts like it's like Harvard version 2. I get people have an affinity to their Alma Mater, but seriously what is the deal with that school? I don't know much about it because I am not California native, though I do know it was (is?) supposed to be highly rated. Good school just full of loud mouth young adults?
I worry because she definitely tries to do her best to get as many kids from our school accepted there.
It's a very prestigious school, arguably the best public university in the country. And yes, it has an active "activist" tradition dating back to at least the Vietnam War.

It's the best public university in the nation; historically it tied with UMich for this honor though it seems UMich has slipped lately. It's very hard for a CA native to beat the value of a degree from Cal given the school's prestige vs. the in-state tuition. Also the UC's accept all AP credit flat out, including a 3 (which private universities sometimes don't accept IF they accept AP credit at all) so it's very possible to graduate in under two years.
And if your kids are smart but not like Ivy League level, CA used to have a program where the top 10% of a HS get automatically accepted into the closest UC... Can easily get into a school that you might not otherwise be competitive for just by living near a good UC.
It's also important to remember that universities are often good at some things and shit at others. I would go to UC Berkeley if I wanted one of the best general physics or astronomy focuses in the country but I would be better off on wikipedia than UC Berkeley for anything involving relativity.
This is equally true for all areas of studies in all schools.
While departmental/major prestige is certainly relevant, remember that kids often don't know what the fuck they are studying when they choose a school (btw, don't let them waste money on a humanities degree unless they are dead set on getting a pHD and being a professor) and that for a generic job your school's "lay person" prestige will often matter more than how good your school actually is at your particular program. Half of the power of the Ivy Leagues is the mere presumption of their superiority, especially among those who don't know much about higher education.
Like Rutgers has a pretty great philosophy program, ranked higher than Harvard's... which lamb skin do you think, on average, opens more doors though?
Well obviously RUTGERS but you have to use it's proper spelling with all caps
Comments are a gold mine. Redditors released videos of her throwing bottles / attacking people during the protest, which is entirely opposite of what she's saying in the above interview. Then, in true Reddit fashion, released info directly to her family that she's a porn model.
What a loser.
