Just curious, what does PTSD mean to you? (Or anyone else for that matter) Like, who suffers from PTSD? (very honest question)

Pretty much the medical definition: a condition in which the hippocampus and the amygdala malfunction in order to facilitate behaviors (both internal - feels/thoughts - and external - actions) governed by the fear response and triggered by stimuli that are unrelated to the actual experience of threat/fear/violence. Basically you experience a traumatic event or series of events, and instead of getting over it you continue to respond to future events as though they were a repetition of that past traumatic event. War-based PTSD is the most well-known example but sexual assault survivors and survivors of domestic abuse as well as child abuse are commonly affected by PTSD as well (i.e. a woman who was molested as a child can't have sex now because every time she tries to be intimate with a man, she flashes back to being molested).

Trigger warnings are definitely an overused excuse utilized by people who feel powerless or victimized within our social systems to enforce their will upon others, and frankly I find that SJW bullshit disgusting. However, actual PTSD triggers, especially if repeated, can be devastating. Just another example of how SJWs dilute the real meaning behind the causes they pretend to support, I guess.

PTSD has a relatively strict definition (for a mental condition) if what you're talking about is actual PTSD. Realistically almost anything could cause it, though historically it's most commonly associated with veterans, sexual assault, and violent situations.

But the US also sees PTSD diagnosed at something like 7 times more then the rest of the world. Interpret that how you will.
