There's really no one to come up with an accurate number for such a statistic since most cases end up falling into can't really prove it one way or the other. Similarly it's hard to get an accurate stat on how many aren't reported since there generally isn't even an attempt to prove one way or the other. But for some reason in public opinion and stats for this we use the standard of guilty until proven innocent which makes no sense

People being judged in the court of public opinion is not an issue that begins and ends with rape, it's done for all kinds of crimes all the time.

If you want to prevent that you'd need some pretty major legislation regarding what the press can publish about ongoing investigations and trials, and that's an ugly can of worms if there ever was one.

Or some sort of marketing campaign reminding people that guilt isn't something that we decide, it's decided in the court system by a judge/jury of peers. If someone hasn't been found guilty then people shouldn't be jumping to conclusions and trying to ruin their lives without having all the information.

Though, I've heard things about the court keeping information away from the jury that could sway their decision. That doesn't really sit right with me

That is true. Doesn't mean we have to fall into the same or continue to misrepresent statics. It's also one of the crimes where there is more room for leakage between real and public opinion courts given it's greater chances of being not so clear cut. Hence why you see an incredibly bias convictions and sentencing. And then there's the push to circumvent real courts in colleges

The whole thing is pretty funny. Saying Trump sucks Putin's cock isn't a homophobic comment, it's calling Trump a cock sucker. Your reaction to that might be homophobic in nature, but the statement itself is merely an opinion. Saying "Trump sucks Putin's cock, and I hate cocksuckers" could be homophobic, but that's not what he said.
