There is a difference between active racism and systemic racism, and even systemic racism comes in various forms. If you honestly believe that your lack of attraction to people of different races is entirely 100% genetic and has nothing to do with racial conditioning within society (systemic racism) then... I mean, it's possible but very unlikely. There is almost certainly some nurture there, and that is not a controversial statement in the least.

Definitely depends on location. Even in Texas, which is South without being "Deep South", my siblings and I are all multiracial and my sister's already added black to the mix with her husband and we don't really get raised eyebrows. Once you're sufficiently mixed up no one really has a box to put you in.

It's a dumb concept that I find upsetting because it's the same kind of stuff I bemoaned about lgbt and feminism: oversensitiveness taken to an extreme which diminishes the value of fights for equality.

It's the kind of ammo the people who deny these problems exist need to flourish and build their case on "see these guys just claim everything is racist" therefore actual racism gets streamlined into being ok because the accusation is always considered as blown out of proportion and never taken seriously.

I would definitely agree it depends on location, but for sure there are locations where it is still an issue. Definitely becoming less and less a problem though.

He isn't black. But most Indians are fairly dark skinned (I picked him as he is a fairly recognizable Indian, even if he is lighter than what some are.) fwiw When I saw him live he was darker than in pics.

Skin color is not the only factor in what makes people find other people physically attractive, just fyi.

I never said it was. It is the topic because of what was being said.

Are we also nurtured to like certain hair styles, eye color, body figures? Yep. And some people's brains end up rejecting those the media wanted us to like, and some grew up liking what the media wanted us to like.

With that said, skin color is mostly about having little presence in media to begin with.

And I think you try to apply the concept of systemic racism to the wrong field.
Biologically speaking people can chose mates based on a number of reason. Similarity can be one of them. Could you believe there are also blacks who don't find whites attractive? Incredible I know.
