People assume "racist" means "bigoted" and they're not the same thing. Maybe that's where this chaos is coming from, at least in part

They have similar meanings but apply to different groups (at least in the strictest usage though people often use them to mean each other) of people. And who knows that might be part of the case but I think part of it is people liking something racism or any of the isms is something much less than they are. Simply not liking one group for 1 thing or another isn't by itself prejudice or discriminatory. It certainly can be and can be a thin line that is hard to really easily tell sometimes but the difference is profound

But I think you are touching on something. Because when someone says "I don't find black people attractive." Then they are lumping 1 billion people together.

And again, this is not absolute. I am 100% sure there are people out there who just naturally don't like dark skin. I get that. All I am saying is that there are going to be a ton who got that way in part to how they were raised by being fed what was considered attractive.

Actually when most people say that pretty sure they don't mean every single last one they've never seen but just a generality that everyone uses. But I think you are also touching on something. Because when I say I don't find men attractive I'm lumping 3.5 billion people together!

I don't think anyone is arguing there is no nurture when it comes to people and what they like and societal norms just that that doesn't by itself make you racist and for that matter it goes both ways because well we live in an age where people love to buck societal norms just for it's own sake lol. I mean that's always existed but it's become so mainstream... oh shit. There is also a certain level of biology involved as well and just a general liking what you grew up around/used to which tends to but isn't always your race. Humans like the familiar but also like the exotic shit is complicated

Systematic racism implies that the racism was intentional planned, which isn't what you're going for here.

Still, it isn't like you can counteract your implicit racial/feature sexual bias with some kind of sexual affirmative action. You're either hard/wet or you're not!

Yeah, was mostly referring to modern day. It's probably still used in some parts of the country but as a whole you won't see it very often. Some places of Europe use it against Muslims right now, too.
