Real talk though, I think another reason whites are "hotter" is because there's more of em around therefore the average amount of visually appealing white people is going to be greater than the other races. As far as the US is concerned

Yeah but you'll also see many more average and below average people. I think it's more their dominance in popular culture (the vast majority of movie stars, models, etc. being white) exposes us to more top tier attractive white people that stretches the distribution. We're just more used to seeing super attractive white people.

Personally for me as an Asian male, I feel like East Asian girls are like redheads. They are either smoking or nothing special. There's no "kinda hot" 7s or 8s, just 9s and 10s or 5s and 6s. Besides that, I can find 1s and 10s among almost any racial background. I am generally attracted to paler complexions, which I do find to be a cultural beauty standard in Asia (remember Mulan going to the match maker in the snow white make-up?) and that in turn makes rarer for me to find women whose backgrounds have naturally darker complexions attractive.

It's as if our personal viewpoints on different races and ethnicities come from a variety of actions and behaviours both that the country itself does, and people from it (as the individual sees them of course; liable for bias and all that).

Our personal viewpoint guides how we make our dating decisions.

Who the fuck are you (in general 'you', but also Ksandra) to try and simplify one of the most complex human actions we do and then to vilify it, and not only stop there but then try to force people to like everyone lest they be branded with a scarlet R? Be very careful of that arrogance of your authority to change things you have no actual ability or right to.

That's not to say that we can't condemn racist behaviour in other aspects of our lives.

Alot of people in Dublin will have 'no Latinos' in their grindr profile because of the specific lived in experience of being a queer in Dublin with such a high percentage of South American men. A common joke is that you haven't been living in Dublin long enough until you've been asked to get married for a visa. I've been asked 3 times, forgive me if at this point in time I want to make the decision to not deal with the headache with a simple way of avoiding it.

Interestingly as well, because all your discussion is super American-centric.... when talking to people in Europe, they'll say stuff like 'no blacks', or in they might talk about disinterest in dating them. But when you delve into it more often than not I think the current generation use that phrase more to do with 'African Black' than American/English black. I'm sure there are tons of Americans who wouldn't call themselves racist to black people but who wouldn't fuck African black people (especially black people, the whole America vs other black communities is suuuuuuper interesting).

We live in a complex racial world now, with different races moving and bringing some of their cultural aspects with them and diverging into others. You're gonna like some, you're gonna not like others, and ultimately no one should give a fuck because you're entitled to feel about races as much as you like.

It's when those thoughts and feelings outwardly affect other aspects of society is when it should deservedly be judged.

But in general the oldest tend to be about 25-27.

I'd have to look up the dates and the news stories but basically there was a loop hole in our constitution where if you gave birth on the island of Ireland you and your child would be awarded citizenship.

That loop hole was popular in the 90s or early 00s, and was around for a few years before they amended it into 'one of the parents have to be legally entitled to live in the country for at least 2 of the last 5 years' before a child is awarded citizenship.

There was a huge operation where women in their third trimester would arrive via boats and have to be admitted.

Those children have turned into beautiful Irish people. They've generally integrated quite well and are celebrated in most aspects of society. They play our national games, etc etc. Have to say it can be a bit 'lol' when you are in a super market and ask a question or whatever and you have that ingrained expectation that the guy would have a more African based english, when he hits you with a big country accent.

Onto other ranting topics, I still can't handle the culture appropriation stuff, though I was glad to get some better insight yesterday on it. The hair braid/dreads shit seems to keep popping up on my fb feed and this is what I have finally understood about that particular topic:

It's bitterness. And it's justifiable bitterness, but lashing out in the wrong way.

On the surface, you'll see people arguing about it being black culture, which as many point out, is dumb as it has never been just a black culture style. And that's basically the only type of argument I've seen towards hair for forever and makes my eyes want to roll out of their head.

Finally I saw the real root (no pun intended) of the problem. The frustration is not that non-blacks wear braids/dreads. It's that black people are looked on negatively for wearing braids/dreads, whereas white people are looked on as being trendy. And that black people feel they are denied jobs if they wear them (I have no citation to back that up, but I honestly don't doubt it). And so they are lashing out that they do not get the same reaction as white people to wearing braids/dreads. Which is compounded by the fact that many have hair types that are just a nightmare to take care of, and is easily solved by those hairstyles.

That, I find, to be an extremely legitimate grievance. I am glad to really get a sense of what they are frustrated about. And I am really sad that they have that as a hurdle towards jobs/acceptance/etc..


With all that being said, the answer, imo, is not to then tell white people they can't wear dreads/braids. This is not an issue of cultural appropriation, but an issue of racism (towards those getting denied jobs, not towards those that wear dreads/braids). Be upset at those that hire people, not upset at people who happen to wear the same hairstyle. I do get the frustration, I honestly do, but they are blaming the wrong people.


Disclaimer: I have no horse in this race as I feel like I would look like a complete moron with braids/dreads, so have no desire to do it myself. I actually don't even think my hair can dread.
