You guys realize you are being just as bad as the PC people this thread is complaining about, right?
You are whining that people are getting things you don't want them to have.
Sounds like whiny feminists.

Although LBGT hiring discrimination is not illegal in some states, that's clearly the direction the country is headed. Offensive jackass discrimination is probably fine and will continue to be fine in most states. It's difficult to consistently identify either group if they don't want to be identified, which they typically don't.
As such, you're frequently going to have large companies composed of both LBGT people and offensive jackasses. Your corporation can get into potential legal trouble (as well as getting its name dragged through the dirt) if you fail to diffuse conflicts between the two groups. Ideally you will implement LBGT meetings and diffuse issues at minimal cost. However, if something does come out then your corporation needs to have been on the right side of the issue (which is the LBGT community's side per the first sentence of this post.) The LBGT demands would have to cause really dramatic inefficiency to cost your company as much as maintaining a culture of perceived discrimination would ultimately cost you.
So there's nothing touchy-feely good guy faceless corporation about it. It's strictly business. Here's a shorter rundown:
1) You can't avoid the liability of hiring LBGT folk or expect them to hide it anymore.
2) You also can't avoid the liability of hiring bigoted jackasses, who are expected to hide it.
3) Some of them won't, and it will cause conflicts that could give your company a bad reputation because public opinion opposes discrimination against the LBGT community.
4) That would be very expensive and might damage your company's expected growth (aka stock price), so it's better to acquiesce to whatever demands the LBGT group has and take a firm position of being anti-jackass.
I'd rather be Feynman than Newton.
And you're whining about people whining. See how this goes?
This discussion is pointless with out context. There's no reason to be against letting people have their periodic paid for break, we already do for smoke breaks, just taking a rest break, hell even longer than usual restroom breaks that we know are caused by cell phones on the shitter breaks are "acceptable" as long as you're getting your work done; we know we all have our ways. The only problem arises when people take advantage of it and start skirting responsibilities cause of it, or are causing others to have to make up their work because of it. LGBT breaks are fine by me, as long as people don't take advantage of it if only because I'm convinced you'll be labeled as a bigot if you speak out against it in the work place. That in itself is bullshit, if your grievances are justified.
Not really
More like were posting like the whiny non-smokers asking why the smokers can go smoke on the clock while were actually working.
is it "like" them in the sense that I'm hitting reply on a post on the topic of PC? ok...
is it "like" them in the sense that I'm a gigantic whiny bitch who wants to be entitled to things I shouldn't be? no
Like I said, it was a good joke by you.. but that's all it was. Pretty big differences in the context of all of this. Idk how deep you've got to be in the safe space rabbit hole to not see the difference of character and motivation behind the actions taken of some people
Yeah but could Feynman turn lead into gold?!
probably as well as newton could
Well, it turns out you can.
It's just takes WAY too much energy.
And in that respect, Feynman would have a better shot at it
