Nah, Shatner is okay. Did you ever watch The Captains documentary? Billy Shatner gleefully sat by while Avery Brooks went fully autistic on the piano and lent a sympathetic ear while Kate Mulgrew lamented all of her struggles about being a woman in Hollywood.

I started to watch that and was really quite interested in what the various Captains had to say, but Bill kept interrupting with his own questions and making the conversations go off course.
