I'm not
I'm not
I always try my best to take a shit at work. They cant expect me to hold it in for an hour, thats crazy talk, thats how you get hemorrhoids.
I've been self-employed or a full-time student for a while now, but did people stop getting 15 minute breaks? I mean, there are times where you get some bad sushi or whatever and need to make a run for the border, but pretty generally speaking, I learned how to hold it a long time ago. Is this a skill that, in your experience, most adults do not possess?
This really doesn't work for all jobs. Again it depends on what job you have. When I was working construction you couldn't just up and take a break when you wanted to. Specially if we were pouring cement or doing a big lift with a crane.
My wife is a vet tech she can't just take a break whenever she wants because they are super busy and half the time she is in the middle of surgery.
On the other hand my current job (IT) and my previous job (game development) have quite a bit of freedom with regards to breaks in general and bathroom breaks.
It isn't one or the other. It is highly job and situationally dependent.
At my work, our Environmental Health and Safety chair wants us to take a 5 min stretch break every hour (more like 45 minutes) because we had so many fucked up arms and hands result from fatigue. And this is on top of our 2-15 minute breaks and 30 minute lunch. And I'm a testament to getting a fucked up hand. I was off the line for 3 months (orthopedist wanted to see if noninvasive treatment would work but eventually right wrist in cast for 3 weeks and additional 3 weeks PT) and transferred to another subgroup within my manager's umbrella. Needless to say, that group had high turnover due to more hand/arm/shoulder injuries because of overwork and cheap equipment (EBITA complaint again)
And to add comedy to this matter, part of our performance metrics is tied to how many OSHA reports we accumulate in a calendar year. The more injuries, the less year end bonus we receive. Yep, workers get fucked for working too hard and hurting themselves.
Maybe in a salaried job where I can afford a cost of living that isn't poverty, but in a waged job working 35 hours a week and unable to afford a 1/1 with out a roommate? Yeah no, I'm not giving up any of the workers rights we've accumulated up to now for a company making larger profits year after year but can't afford to give me more than a 25cent/hr raise. You want that kind of worker, you offer more. You're obviously offered that kind of compensation, but you're very out of touch with the way the world works now.
Every job I've had, it was company policy that you were supposed to go piss during your breaks. The exception was when I was a groomer and that was because you kind of worked for yourself. Granted, even then we got threatened with a break sheet because a coworker was taking excessive bathroom breaks.
I think most places are pretty lax on this but have it put in policy form to write-up abusers and have an excuse to get rid of em.

The professor who told her students to fight back against being told what is and isn't appropriate has "voluntarily" resigned from her position at Yale.
ONE MORE VICTORY!!!!11!!!!!!
Here is something that's not PC to take the edge off:

That's basically what I do now. Though "lunch" is just generally a quick protein shake when in the office maybe grabbing quick bite and eating on the road when on. Take turns with my coworkers for bathroom at various stops. Basically if you need to do something do it when it's convenient to the job and there are definitely opportunities to take a quick break here and there. Not really company policy just there is work to do and needs to be done in a timely manner
Taking a break when it's convenient for the job is a given though. Y'all are acting like you stop mid sentence with a customer, put up a BRB sign, and go chill in a break room with Netflix and food for an hour.
This is what happens when unions go away. We don't need to work like slaves until we are dead. The products will still come out just fine for the CEOs to make billions.
It does kinda burn me up whenever I see financial guys talking about how we're not meeting metrics for our bonuses at the end of the year because the company only grew in profit by X% instead of the target Y%. It's largely the reason why I blow off town hall meetings.
