why do people of color assume they know everything about what it's like to be a white male but white males couldn't possibly know what it's like to be a person of color? maybe no one knows what anyone else is experiencing unless they've been that person, and can only make an educated guess that would be partially true at best and horribly wrong at worst.


also that author should be drawn and quartered. not for the socio-political content of the article but for the absolutely awful writing style. motherfucker I do not need to know what kind of coffee some dude was drinking while you talked to him or how that specific drink is made, and I absolutely don't need to know the name of the drink in question. trying to read through this for the actual meat and I'm having to wade through oceans of pretentious "look at me, I'm a descriptive writer, look how poetic I am!" bullshit details. are you serious? It's only a small difference. At the end of the day, personal preference is personal. If Asian women prefer Asian dudes, that's cool with me. If white women prefer black dudes, that's cool with me too. You can't force people to find everyone attractive, or have the same taste in food, art, fashion, etc. Acknowledging the differences, and the patterns, isn't racist.

I disagree, that shit is completely different. Laundry is meant to clean things, so the implication is that a black person is just a dirty Asian person, which is pretty fucked up. But, China, different standards, who cares.

Well if we are reaching the implication in the Italian commercial is that white guys are out of shape and balding but colored is automatically fit and more attractive is pretty fucked up

Both play on racism, but in different ways. One is the typical foreigners are dirty and unclean, the other is that foreigners are exotic. Both portrayals SHOULD be offensive, but people find the first more offensive because it asserts overt superiority. Lots of people still think it's not racist when you aren't being "negative" about the target of your stereotype (i.e. it's not racist to say Asians are good at math)
