aye i watched their discussion, amused that their two main criticisms are that he is overly reductive in his historical accounts and overly detailed in his evidence. the latter seems a beneficial sin, the former is an inevitability when one is presenting a theory of history and one is forced to allot a single paragraph to an event that can be written about for several thousand pages.
you obviously haven't read the book (nor have a basic understanding of domestication) as Diamond goes on for some length on the difference between taming an individual animal and domesticating a species.
