Freesync monitor with nvidia GPU?

Looking to upgrade my monitor and was looking at http://www.amazon.com/PB278Q-2560x14.../dp/B009C3M7H0 which is stuck at 60hz (can OC to 75 I think). Then I came across http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009769 for 70$ more, granted it's freesync. Now I know freesync is AMD so I can't access -that- feature, but would the 144hz 1ms still used? Kinda dumb question but some people say it works, others say it's capped at 60hz.

Or if anyone has any other suggestions. Looking for a 27" 1440p and if it can be 144hz that would be cool.

Yeah it would still run at 144hz without the freesync as far as I know. It just won't look -as- smooth as running it with a 'sync' feature. You might not notice though.

If you're an nvidia kid, these monitors are really the thing to shoot for:
Asus ROG Swift PG278Q
Acer XB270HU

They are much pricier, but such is the cost of using more popular (and better) video card technology in this generation. Either of these monitors will last you a very long time if you take care of them. 4k gaming on PC just isn't quite 'there' yet enough to be mainstream. This is way to go right now imo.

Reading more into it looks like I can get a pretty good deal on the acer plus its ips so I may go with that one.

Gonna plop this here cause I don't want to make a new post. So I managed to snag a XB270HU for 570$. G sync so far is wonderful... however it doesn't seem to like borderless WoW all my other games work borderless, does anyone know if there is a way to force it?

Windows 10 fixed that /shrugs. New problem is video tearing on my off monitor while ingame, if I alt tab to firefox the tearing stops. I know it's most likely due to the different refresh rates but is there any way to fix it? =/
